The 2025 DP World India Championship prize money on offer this week is £3,000,000 ($4m), which makes it the biggest fund in Indian golf tournament history.

Below we have outlined the FULL purse breakdown for all 70 players who make the cut this week on the DP World Tour at Delhi Golf Club in New Delhi.

Biggest Purse In Indian Golf History On Offer At DP World India Championship

After Marco Penge triumphed on Sunday to pocket $552,500 in Open de Espana prize money, the DP World Tour is on the road this week.

Now it’s the turn of the DP World India Championship in New Delhi in what is the first showing of the event in golf history. As well as being part of the DP World Tour schedule, it is also part of the PGA of India calendar too.

This means there will be 20+ Indian players in the field, looking to impress on home soil. As well as looking to impress on home soil, they will have their sights firmly set on the prize pot come Sunday.

This is because this week’s DP World India Championship is the single largest fund ever offered in Indian golf tournament history.

With £3million ($4m) worth of DP World India Championship prize money up for grabs at Delhi Golf Club, this is a bigger purse than any previous golf tournaments on Indian soil since the beginning of time.

The previous biggest purse in Indian golf history came earlier this year at the Hero Indian Open in Haryana.

There was $2.25m on offer as Eugenio Chacarra won his first European Tour title back in March, which is now being trumped by a further $1.75m in Delhi this week.

This makes the £3m ($4m) DP World India Championship this week the single biggest purse in Indian golf history. Period.

This could be one reason why Rory McIlroy’s next tournament is indeed this one, teeing it up in India for the very first time in his career.

Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood are two big names in action at the DP World India Championship this week

£3M Worth Of DP World India Championship Prize Money On Offer

After helping improve Team Europe’s Ryder Cup record on US soil last month at Bethpage Black, the likes of Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry and Viktor Hovland will tee it up this week at Delhi Golf Club.

Along with several of Europe’s winning Ryder Cup stars are some big American names too. Former Open Championship winner Brian Harman is in the field, as is Ben Griffin who was part of Keegan Bradley’s losing US Ryder Cup team in New York.

All of these big names will be competing for a total prize pot of £3m ($4m) come Sunday. As previously mentioned, this is the biggest purse in Indian golf tournament history.

A total of 70 players (and ties) who make the 36-hole cut will be in with a chance of earning some DP World Indian Championship prize money.

A £3m ($4m) purse is set to be split between all 70 players who make the halfway cut in the Indian capital this week. This £3m purse totally trumps anything the PGA Tour of India field have ever competed for previously.

DP World India Championship Winners Purse Set At £510,250

Rory McIlroy is set to leave his America home after the abuse he and his wife received at the 45th Ryder Cup in New York, so competing in tournaments such as these all around the world might become a more regular occurrence for the career Grand Slam winner.

The five-time major champion heads the field and the current market with golf betting sites for the DP World India Championship. Behind him are the likes of Tommy Fleetwood, Ben Griffin and Viktor Hovland who are also amongst the favourites.

None of the PGA Tour ‘big hitters’ are in action this week though, with the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and co opting to miss this event in Delhi.

This could be good news for the rest of the field, which includes 20+ Indian golfers. They will all be looking to get their hands on the £3m DP World India Championship prize money come Sunday, which has a top purse of £510,250 ($680,000).

The winners share alone is around three times more than the entire prize purse on some of the biggest events on the PGA Tour of India.

The total prize fund for PGA Tour of India events is usually around 20,000,000 rupees at most, which equates to just £170,000 or so. Talk about an added incentive for the local golfers to play their best golf this week at Delhi Golf Club!
