Cardiff City and DragonBet

Cardiff City have agreed an extension to the club’s partnership with DragonBet ahead of this week’s highly anticipated Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Chelsea.

The Welsh bookmaker agreed a two-year deal at the start of the 2025-26 season to sponsor the back of the Bluebirds’ shirts.

They have expanded that collaboration to include the club’s Carabao Cup shirts for the visit of Chelsea.

Preparing For The Club World Cup Champions

Cardiff sit top of League One with a four-point lead after a string of five straight wins.

Striker Yousef Salech, 23, is joint top scorer in the division with 10 goals from 16 starts and three substitute appearances.

Chelsea will rest England star Cole Palmer after his goalscoring return to action against Everton at the weekend.

Ahead of this tie, Enzo Maresca’s future as Chelsea boss seems uncertain.

Cardiff head coach Brian Barry-Murphy has the Bluebirds on course for a swift return to the Championship.

The Irishman was appointed in June to help lift the club following a disastrous relegation season.

After five wins and a draw in his first six games in charge, he was named EFL League One Manager of the Month for August.

He worked as a development coach at Manchester City when Maresca was one of Pep Guardiola’s assistants.

Barry-Murphy sees the showdown with the Club World Cup champions as a chance for his young team to test itself at the very highest level.

Who Are DragonBet?

DragonBet was founded by brothers James and David Lovell, who are lifelong Cardiff City fans.

They owe their love of the races, dog tracks and all things betting to father John, who ran a pitch at racecourses.

“We couldn’t be more excited to stand alongside the Bluebirds this season,” said David Lovell.

“To see the team perform as they have has been a real buzz for all the DragonBet team.

“Seeing the DragonBet logo on the back of the shirt and come to life in the stadium on the LED boards and big screen has given us moments of real pride, and at times has been quite emotional.”

Cardiff City Versus Chelsea Highlights

DragonBet will take over the half-time keepy-up challenge as part of the entertainment for Tuesday’s crucial cup tie.

It will give four fans over 18 the chance to win a match shirt worn during the game.

In addition there will be free tickets for race days at Ffos Las to play for.

“We’re excited for the Carabao Cup Quarter Final clash against Chelsea at Cardiff City Stadium, said David Lovell.

“We have got a sneaky feeling the boys might just pull off a famous victory.

“Either way we’ll be there to cheer them on.

“We’re looking forward to the half-time DragonBet keep-up challenge too.”
