The Dubai Desert Classic is held at the Emirates Golf Club in the UAE. It’s a par 72 course that is 7,428 yards and was opened in 1989. The inaugural event was won by Mark James in 1989 when it was called the Karl Litten Desert Classic. That year James banked $75,000 for winning, which is almost $1.5m less than today’s winner gets.
