Eden Hazard Plays Agent As He Names His Next Chelsea Manager

Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has told Cesc Fabregas that his time is now to make a sensational return to Stamford Bridge as manager.

The former midfielder is seeing his managerial stock continue to rise as he enjoys an impressive season with Como.

Fabregas has worked wonders in his first managerial spell in the dugout, guiding Como to 10th in Serie A on their return to the top flight for the first time in 21 years.

This season, his side continues to improve, and Como are fighting for a European place in sixth, just four points adrift of Juventus in fourth.

Eden Hazard Backs Cesc Fabregas For Chelsea

Hazard revealed he recently met up with his former Blues team-mate during his time in Italy, where they spoke about Fabregas’ future.

He told Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport: “I’ll be honest, in the summer we talked a bit. I told him he was one of the best midfielders in history and that he’s destined to become one of the best coaches as well.

“I explained to him that the time has come for him to return to Chelsea, and he joked about it, but I really believe it.

“He loves football and knows everything about this spot.

“I’m a Chelsea fan, and I want the best for the club. That’s why I dream of seeing Cesc on their bench, while I’ll be staying in the stands behind him, enjoying the show.”

Any move to Chelsea is unlikely to happen in the near future following their appointment of Liam Rosenior.

Rosenior’s tenure has started positively, winning six consecutive matches before defeat at Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final during the week.

However, Chelsea’s hierarchy is notoriously ruthless and any downturn in results and performances will immediately put pressure on Rosenior’s shoulders.

The Blues board will also be content for Fabregas to pick up more managerial experience, particularly if Como qualify for Europe, before making their move.

A Premier League Rival Reunion?

It could be the case that Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea all have former playing rivals in the dugout in the future.

Michael Carrick is currently impressing during his interim spell in charge at Old Trafford and will undoubtedly get the job on a full-time basis if he maintains their momentum.

United have won all three games since his appointment, including beating rivals Man City and Arsenal.

Carrick is currently 4/5 to become the next Manchester United manager on a full-time basis.

Arne Slot is under pressure at Liverpool, and Xabi Alonso is waiting in the wings after his sacking at Real Madrid.

The Spaniard is the heavy 4/11 favourite to take the job at Anfield, and Slot may find his job under fire if they fail to secure Champions League football next season.

Slot is also the third favourite in the Premier League sack race behind Thomas Frank and Oliver Glasner.

Fabregas could complete the trio of Premier League legends in charge of their former clubs.
