England Confirm Lineup To Face Scotland As Steve Borthwick Makes One Change From France Win

Here’s the latest confirmed England rugby lineup ahead of Saturday’s Guinness Six Nations clash with Scotland at the Allianz Stadium.

England host Scotland in Twickenham in round three of this year’s competition.

With both sides recording one win and one loss from their opening two fixtures, this is a must-win if either side wants to keep their title hopes alive.

Steve Borthwick has named an almost unchanged England lineup from the one that beat France 26-25 last time out.

England Make Minimal Changes For Scotland Game

The only alteration from the previous round is that of Ollie Chessum. The Leicester Tigers lock comes in for club teammate George Martin, making his first test start in almost a year.

Chessum joins skipper Maro Itoje in the second row, while Martin drops to the bench.

After a successful experiment against Les Blues, Marcus Smith is chosen at fullback once again.

Twenty-two-year-old Northampton fly-half Fin Smith keeps the number ten shirt.

England haven’t beaten Scotland since 2020, losing the last four meetings between the Auld enemies.

Following their dramatic and unexpected victory over France, Steve Borthwick’s side have put themselves in contention for the title.

They would still need Ireland to lose – most likely to France – but a win on Saturday against the Scots would put them in a great position.

Scotland started their campaign with a win over Italy, but were well beaten by the Irish in round two.

Gregor Townsend’s side have enjoyed bragging rights in the Calcutta Cup recently, though.

The last time Scotland lost to England at Twickenham was in 2017, when a rampant English side won 61-21 for a record-breaking victory.
