German Darts Championship Betting Tips 🎯
- Best Bet: Stephen Bunting to WIN @ 12/1
- E/W Bet: Jermaine Wattimena @ 33/1
The 2025 German Darts Championship is almost upon us as Halle 39 in Hildesheim hosts the 14th and final European Tour tournament this weekend in Germany.
It was two-time world champion Peter Wright who triumphed 12 months ago, beating Luke Littler 8-5 in the final. ‘Snakebite’ is back in action this week looking to go back-to-back in Germany too.
However, he is up against it with a plethora of darting superstars in action. This includes world number one the in-form Gerwyn Price, Josh Rock, Gian van Veen and Jonny Clayton to name but a few.
He’ll also have to overcome several other quality players. This includes Nathan Aspinall, who landed two nine-dart finishes on Tuesday at Players Championship 31 in Wigan.
It also includes a certain Stephen Bunting, who SportsCasting are selecting as our outright German Darts Championship betting tip.
Bunting is fourth favourite with UK betting apps to prevail this weekend in Germany, and we feel he could win a third European Tour title this weekend in Hildesheim.
‘The Bullet’ has won numerous events this year already, including two on the European Tour. He is in strong form after two strong showings in Wigan midweek, and massively appeals at odds of 12/1 here.
With that in mind, SportsCasting‘s darts expert has scoured the latest odds and selected two German Darts Championship betting tips for this weekend’s tungsten action at Halle 39.
We feel it could be a successful weekend for Bunting in Germany, with Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena also appealing with huge each-way value to have a potential run to the final.
Stephen Bunting To Win @ 12/1
Stephen Bunting is one of the most in-form players in the world right now, showing signs of his best form of late with several 100+ averages, a plethora of 180s and some strong shows both on the PDC ProTour.
The Englishman also won the last European Tour event in Switzerland last month, so has shown on numerous occasions that he has what it takes to dominate big tournaments all around the world.
Bunting is of course a major winner too, and reached the quarter-finals of both PC31 and PC32 during the week in Wigan.
After struggling with a back injury at the World Grand Prix last week, it seems ‘The Bullet’ is fully fit and firing once again. With Luke Littler and Luke Humphries absent from the field, this could be a big opportunity for Bunting to claim another title.
He is the #1 seed given his performances this season on the European Tour, so has to be respected as one of the leading favourites.
Bunting joined the elite list of Littler and van Gerwen with historic Swiss Darts Trophy win at ET13, and he’ll fancy his chances this week once again.
His odds of 12/1 are too generous for us, hence why Stephen Bunting is our outright German Darts Championship betting tip to claim yet another victory this week on the European Tour.
Jermaine Wattimena E/W @ 33/1
Another player that catches the eye ahead of the 2025 German Darts Championship is Jermaine Wattimena.
The Dutchman has enjoyed a fairly strong season this year, which was amplified ten-fold earlier this week by winning Players Championship 31 in Wigan.
Wattimena reeled off eight legs on the spin to beat Nathan Aspinall in the PC31 final, showing that he has what it takes to win against some of the world’s best players.
Although he mightn’t have won too many events, he has won two Players Championship titles this year alone on the PDC ProTour.
Not to mention the face he made the final of the European Championship last year, which was his strongest ever finish in a major darts tournament.
The signs are there that Wattimena is knocking on the door of a first TV title. He will fancy his chances this week after a strong display in Wigan on Tuesday.
Wattimena is fond of a 170-checkout, so keep an eye out for some big finishes from the Dutchman this weekend in Germany too.
At odds of 33/1, Jermaine Wattimena has huge each-way appeal this week in Hildesheim. ‘Machine Gun’ could be a strong choice for success this week in Germany at a lucrative price.
German Darts Championship Preview
With Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen absent from the German Darts Championship field this week, darts fans feel this could be anybody’s tournament in Hildesheim.
The likes of Gerwyn Price, Josh Rock and Stephen Bunting are three of the favourites, as is the in-form Gian van Veen.
The majority of fans will feel that this ET14 event will be won by one of those four, but you just have to look at the Hungarian Darts Trophy last month to see that these European Tour events are wide open.
Niko Springer defied his 100/1 odds to win last month in Budapest, showing that almost anyone in the draw is capable of going all the way.
He beat the likes of Gian van Veen, Damon Heta, Rob Cross, Humphries, Rock and Danny Noppert to claim the title in Budapest, with plenty of outsiders this week looking to replicate that kind of form.
Who’s to say that another outside can’t do the same this week at Halle 39? The 2025 German Darts Championship is not to be missed this weekend in Hildesheim!
