The 2025 German Darts Championship takes place in Hildesheim this week in what is the 14th European Tour (ET14) tournament of year. But just who is in action?
The full field and line-up has been revealed for the 2025 German Darts Championship, with 16 of the world’s best PDC players taking to the oche this weekend alongside Pro Tour Order of Merit qualifiers and 16 other qualifiers too.
German Darts Championship Full Field Revealed
The PDC heads to Germany for the 14th European Tour event of the season after a short absence due to the World Grand Prix.
This week’s German Darts Championship marks the final European Tour event of the year before the European Championship finale next week in Dortmund.
Last year it was two-time world champion Peter Wright who reigned supreme in Hildesheim, who defeated teenage sensation Luke Littler 8-5 in the final 12 months ago.
This year, Wright is back to defend his title with no Littler in action. Although ‘The Nuke’ is missing from the German Darts Championship field this week, there are still some other huge names in the line-up.
Last year nobody his the elusive nine-dart finish at Halle 39, but there have been numerous this week on the PDC ProTour courtesy of Nathan Aspinall. So, could anyone strike perfection this weekend in Germany?
Price is favourite with UK betting sites to triumph at the German Darts Championship. With Littler, Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen absent from the line-up, this leaves the door open for the likes of ‘The Iceman’ and other world class players.
The likes of Stephen Bunting, Josh Rock, Gian van Veen and Chris Dobey are also in action and amongst the favourites.
A total of 48 players are in the German Darts Championship field this week. This consists of 16 seeded players, 16 ProTour Order of Merit qualifiers, 10 Tour Card qualifiers, four Host National qualifiers, one Nordic/Baltic qualifier, one East European qualifier and two players from the reserve list.
Although not a major PDC title, there is still some lucrative prize money up for grabs and the chance of adding more silverware to the cabinet too. So, who will reign in Germany at the 2025 German Darts Championship?
PDC Order Of Merit Line-Up
There are some notable omissions from the German Darts Championship this year. None more so than Luke Littler, who has opted against the trip to Germany this weekend.
Littler passed his driving theory test at the seventh attempt recently, so might be at home practicing his practical driving instead of making the trip for ET14.
Michael van Gerwen has also decided to swerve ET14 this weekend, along with world number one Luke Humphries, two-time world champion Gary Anderson and a few others.
The rest of the German Darts Championship field seems stacked from top to bottom, particularly in the seeds.

When Is The 2025 German Darts Championship?
The 2025 German Darts Championship takes place across two days, beginning on Friday, 17 October and ending on Sunday, 19 October.
This year marks just the 16th German Darts Championship tournament since its inception in 2007.
Both Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen have won the event three times each, with just one German playing winning in their home country before (Ricardo Pietreczko in 2023).
It really is anyone’s tournament, but SportsCasting‘s German Darts Championship betting tips are favouring Stephen Bunting to win the title.
The 16 Round 1 matches will take place on Friday, 17 October, with all 16 Round 2 matches then taking place on Saturday, 18 October.
After that, the eight Round 3 ties, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final are all set to take place on Sunday, 19 October.
All Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and quarter-final matches are best of 11 legs, with the semi-final best of 13 and the final a race to eight (best of 15 legs).

Who Is The German Darts Championship Favourite?
With Luke Humphries, Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen absent this week in Germany, it comes as no surprise to learn that Gerwyn Price is the bookmakers favourite to win ET14.
‘The Iceman’ has won numerous events already this year, hence why he is the favourite here and regularly appearing at the business end of tournaments. Not to mention the fact he is a multiple major winner too.
Although Price has won almost everything there is to win in darts, he hasn’t won the German Darts Championship before.
With that in mind, the 40-year-old will be looking to add new silverware to his collection. Price was defeated by ‘The Nuke’ in the World Grand Prix quarter-finals last weekend, but arguably should have won. He is in good form and rightfully the bookies favourite.
Josh Rock, Stephen Bunting, Jonny Clayton and Gian van Veen are just some of the other big names amongst the German Darts Championship betting favourites.
If you can’t pick a winner for this week’s ET14 event, perhaps backing markets such as a 170-checkout or ‘big fish’ to be reeled in, a nine-darter to be hit or handicap betting could be the way forward.
What Is The German Darts Championship Prize Money?
The 2025 German Darts Championship prize money has remained the same as last year, with a total of £175,000 up for grabs this week in Hildesheim.
This £175,000 pot is also the same as it was in 2023, marking three years of plateauing prize money in Germany for this specific tournament.
This means that Sunday’s winner will take home the maximum £30,000 purse, with the runner up set to receive £12,000 in German Darts Championship prize money.
The two beaten semi-finalists will pocket £8,500 each, with the four losing quarter-finalists taking home £6,000 each.
The eight Round 3 losers are set to earn £4,000 for their efforts, with the 16 defeated players in Round 2 each earning £2,500. The 16 players beaten in Round 1 take home just £1,250 in cash.
Last year, it was Peter Wright, who who comes in at #9 of the most followed darts player in the world, who beat Luke Littler 8-5 in the final. So, which way will it go this year in Hildesheim?
| Stage | Prize Money (£) |
| Winner | £30,000 |
| Runner-up | £12,000 |
| Semi-finalists (2) | £8,500 |
| Quarter-finalists (4) | £6,000 |
| Third round (8) | £4,000 |
| Second round (16) | £2,500 |
| First round (16) | £1,250 |
