Gianni is back with another round of FPL tips for Gameweek 9, which don’t forget gets going with a Friday night game – this time the popular Fantasy Premier League tipster gives THREE Saka replacements. With some injury concerns for Bukayo Saka and a tough match this weekend against Liverpool even if he does play, many FPL players will be looking at replacing the England winger – but with a value of £10m at least it will free up a lot of funds. Gianni Buttice explains why getting rid of Saka now is a good move and highlights three possible substitutes for the Arsenal man. FPL Tips For Gameweek 9: Three Bukayo Saka Replacements Mikel Arteta doesn’t tell us much about players availability. We know Bukayo Saka has been out for a couple of weeks after going off for England, but rumour has it the winger has returned to training and will be fit to play this weekend. Regardless, he feels like a Premier League player to offload given his next three fixtures are Liverpool at home before trips to Newcastle and Chelsea. At his premium price tag there are other attractive options with much bigger upside in the short term. 1. Cole Palmer Cole Palmer Ownership is rising week on week and even a blank last time out hasn’t stopped the price rises. At 52% ownership, a haul really hurts your rank if you don’t own and whilst his fixtures might not feel like the best, it’s inevitable you’ll want him sooner or later so a move to him earlier than planned feels like a safe bet. Newcastle are not the solid defensive unit we once saw under Eddie Howe and Palmer will fancy his chances to go big against a team who will have a go in attack and leave spaces behind. Palmer has been left out the squad for the group stages of the Europa Conference League game and the midweek rests will serve him well. 2. Son Heung-min Heung-min Son Returned to the Spurs team with a bang and caused chaos to the West Ham back line last time out. In his 69 minutes he registered 5 shots, (4 of which were in the box), scored, hit the post and came close to a couple of assists. Ange Postecoglou was quoted ahead of the Europa League game to AZ Alkmaar saying, “Sonny was bit sore after the weekend, he was never going to be involved tomorrow” so his absence is not to be worried about and he’ll surely be ready to go versus Crystal Palace on Sunday. Around the corner he plays Ipswich at home in Gameweek 11, a fixture many will look to captain him with Haaland facing a tricker away game to Brighton that week. 3. Alejandro Garnacho Alejandro Garnacho Costs only 6.2 million which is a huge saving on Saka. The extra 3.8 million could be invested in defence or attack if you’re looking to reshuffle your team structure. Garnacho hasn’t always been first choice under ten Haag but has played 90 minutes in the last four league games. Crucially however he’s now getting gametime on the left which is perhaps why we’re seeing higher shot volume and better performances both for the player and the team. With 7 shots last time out, and 10 FPL points he’s firmly on my watchlist. In Gameweeks 11 and 12 he plays Leicester and Ipswich and will be in high demand. As tempting as Son is, I’ve transferred in Palmer for Saka already this week (to beat a price rise) and have plans in place to buy Garnacho in Gameweek 11 if his form continues Written by Sports EditorAndy Newton Andy is a horse racing journalist and betting expert who specializes in trends and stats.
