Gabby Agbonlahor Slams Tottenham Fans Who Booed Guglielmo Vicario

Former Aston Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor has criticised Tottenham Hotspur fans who booed Guglielmo Vicario during the defeat against Fulham.

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham were beaten 2-1 by Fulham on Saturday, becoming the first team to lose to the Cottagers at home.

After the defeat, experts have bumped Frank up to second place in the Premier League sack race odds market, pricing him at 4/1. Leeds United manager Daniel Farke remains the favourite to go next at 8/15.

Agbonlahor Slams Fans Who Booed Vicario

Tottenham conceded two goals in the opening six minutes of the game and Guglielmo Vicario committed an error that led to the visitors’ second

Trying to deal with a long ball, Vicario came out of his area and dragged the ball towards the corner flag. However, instead of booting it out of play, Vicario tried to dribble his way out and gave the ball to Josh King.

King fed the ball to Harry Wilson, who found the back of the empty net with a curler from 36.6 metres out.

Shortly after the second goal, the ball came to Vicario, and some Spurs fans booed the Italian.

On Talksport, Gabby Agbonlahor criticised Spurs supporters who directed their boos only at the goalkeeper.

They’re gonna be frustrated, but I didn’t like the booing of just one player,” said Agbonlahor.

Mohamed Kudus’ strike on the hour mark gave fans hope, but a turnaround was not on the cards.

Following the defeat, boos rang around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium once more.

Vicario Says Booing Is ‘Part of Football’

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank was unhappy with the way some fans acted during the defeat against Fulham.

Frank said booing Guglielmo Vicario was ‘unacceptable’, claiming ‘true Tottenham fans’ would not act that way.

Vicario, on the other hand, did not question fans. He accepted his mistake and said fans had the right to act the way they wished.

When asked about the incident, Vicario said being booed was a ‘part of football.’

I’m a big man, what can I say?

We cannot be influenced by the situation in the stands. The fans have the right to do what they think,” he said.

It’s on us to stay more calm, to focus on ourselves. We are lacking in composure and calmness to overturn results. Today is a bad defeat, and it’s tough to accept.”

The defeat on Saturday left Tottenham 12th in the Premier League table, putting Frank under more pressure.

If the Danish manager is dismissed, the next Tottenham manager betting odds are pointing towards Mauricio Pochettino’s spectacular return.
