The latest Harvey Elliott transfer news has confirmed that the Liverpool star will not be leaving Anfield in January. 

Elliott had been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Brighton amid a lack of playing time on Merseyside under new boss Arne Slot.

The attacking midfielder missed three months of the 2024/25 campaign owing to a broken foot. However, the 21-year-old is yet to start a single Premier League or UEFA Champions League game this season.

That hasn’t stopped Elliott making a decent impression for the Reds when called upon by Slot. On Tuesday, the England U21 star scored the winner against Lille in Europe’s elite club competition.

During the 2-1 victory over Lille, Elliott was introduced at half-time for Curtis Jones. Now, he’ll be hoping to force his way into Slot’s starting XI for the upcoming fixtures against Ipswich and PSV.

On his future, Elliott revealed that lengthy chats with the Dutch manager about his participation in the first-team helped clarify his situation.

Liverpool’s matchwinner Harvey Elliott dismissed the rumours of his exit straight after the UEFA Champions League victory against Lille.

“It is pretty clear to be honest – I am not leaving. This is my team and my club. I’m a massive fan and we’re in a great position so far this season.

“I haven’t really seen the chat, but my friends have messaged me and called me about a few things.

“It is always going to happen in January, especially after being out for a long time and not playing as much as I want to, but that is football.

“I’ve had conversations with the gaffer but, at the same time, I need to understand the situation. The team is flying – we are first in the Premier League and Champions League.

“For me to go in and say I should be starting it would be silly really. You know what the answer is going to be.

“I need to stay patient and when I am getting opportunities, however long it is, just enjoy the moment, especially after being injured for three months at the start of the season.

“I just want to enjoy my football and, when a chance comes, I need to show the gaffer that if I am needed I am ready.”
