Holly Shand returns with another round of FPL tips on SportsCasting – this week centred around the best differentials to add to your teams ahead of Gameweek 23. While most fantasy managers are planning ahead for Double Gameweek 24, it’s important not to overlook the gameweek prior to that, with some differential options carrying huge potential for rank gain this week. So who are the best low-owned FPL picks? FPL Gameweek 23 Tips: Best Differentials Antoine Semenyo vs Nottingham Forest (H) Bournemouth were the surprise package last time out, scoring four goals at St. James’ Park against an in-form Newcastle United team, taking the Cherries to ten games unbeaten. It was Justin Kluivert who stole the headlines with a hat-trick for 22 fantasy points. However, it’s the consistency of team-mate Antoine Semenyo that I find the most attractive, with the Cherries winger hitting six goals and four assists this season. He’s missed just one game all campaign through suspension and has one goal and three assists in four. This weekend, Bournemouth entertain third in the table Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium, sitting just seven points behind them in the league. The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw all the way back in Gameweek 1, with Semenyo getting on the scoresheet. Phil Foden vs Chelsea (H) It’s safe to say that Manchester City are back, with three wins and a draw from their last four games and a leading tally of 14 goals scored in this period, four more than any other side. Erling Haaland remains a tricky price point though with captaincy considered. In this column ahead of FPL Gameweek 22, I highlighted Phil Foden ahead of the trip to Ipswich, and the Manchester City man duly delivered. He racked up two goals and one assist in the 6-0 win against the Tractor Boys, his best return of the season so far. That takes Foden up to five goals and two assists in the last four gameweeks, having had ten shots and five big chances in this period. He’s also made eight key passes. Chelsea are the visitors to the Etihad this week and are without a clean sheet in five. Cody Gakpo vs Ipswich (H) The injury to Dominic Solanke, coupled with an upcoming double gameweek for Liverpool, could see Cody Gakpo’s ownership finally exceed 10% this season, with the Dutch striker coming into my team last time out. The injury to Diogo Jota will provide assurance that Gakpo will see significant minutes in this upcoming period. He’s a favourite of Arne Slot, starting ten consecutive league games, where he’s chalked up five goals and one assist. He’s the perfect route into a double up on Liverpool attackers ahead of Double Gameweek 24, alongside the most owned player in the game, Mohamed Salah. A home game against Ipswich is the perfect time to buy, having just conceded six to City.
