Harry Kane Bundesliga

Is the Bundesliga starting to win over the neutrals? England and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane may be a key factor in doing so.

How Harry Kane Is Helping The Bundesliga Win Over Neutrals

England and Bayern Munich goal machine Harry Kane may be having a direct impact on the Bundesliga winning over neutral football fans.

The signing of such a world-renowned household name was bound to increase interest in the league, especially from the United Kingdom, however there could be more factors at play.

What do fans love? Goals. And what does Kane bring to the table? Goals, and plenty of them.

Since joining the Bavarians in 2023, the 32-year-old has won two consecutive Golden Boot awards. He ended the 2023-24 campaign with 36 goals and the 2024-25 season with 26 goals.

This term, he has 11 goals and three assists in just six German top-flight appearances. Across all competitions, he has registered an impressive 18 goals and three assists in 10 games.

Undoubtedly, Kane’s arrival in Germany has boosted the league’s overall goals per game ratio.

The season he joined Bayern (2023-24), the league averaged over 3.2 goals per game. That puts the season in 21st place (out of 62) in terms of the division’s highest-scoring campaigns.

A slight drop-off in 2024-25, which coincides with Kane scoring 10 fewer goals than the season prior, saw the league average over 3.1 goals per game (28th highest scoring season overall).

But we’re back up in 2025-26 with the league averaging 3.6 goals per game according to CFOOT. At this rate, we’re set to witness the highest-scoring season in Bundesliga history.

The current highest average goals per game season came in 1983-84 with an average of 3.58.

Listed below are the goals per game ratios in each of Europe’s top five leagues this term:

  1. Bundesliga – 3.6 goals per game
  2. Ligue 1 – 3.0 goals per game
  3. LaLiga – 2.7 goals per game
  4. Premier League – 2.5 goals per game
  5. Serie A – 2.3 goals per game

Leading the way with the highest goals per game average across Europe’s top five leagues, one could argue that the Bundesliga is the most entertaining top-level league to watch in 2025-26.

In turn, this could see the league’s overall viewership figures increase over the coming months.

Rumours of Kane’s departure could have a negative effect on this however, with Manchester United favoured at 6/4 to sign the Englishman in the Harry Kane next club odds market.

Mark Goldbridge Partnership Sees Bundesliga Reach New Audience

Another way in which the Bundesliga are winning over neutrals is through their partnership with well-known British YouTuber and influencer Mark Goldbridge.

It was announced ahead of the 2025-26 campaign that Goldbridge would be broadcasting 20 of the league’s Friday night games live on his YouTube channel in a watchalong format.

His channel, That’s Football, boasts over 1.3 million subscribers on the platform.

The partnership was formed in hopes of the Bundesliga ‘connecting with more audiences’.

Thus far, the highest viewed watchalong came on the opening weekend of the season when Bayern beat RB Leipzig 6-0. Goldbridge’s broadcast of the match garnered over 236,000 views.

Other matches include Hamburg vs St. Pauli (82k views), Bayer Leverkusen vs Eintracht Frankfurt (76k views), Stuttgart vs St. Pauli (53k views), Bayern vs Werder Bremen (73k views) and Hoffenheim vs Koln (40k). He also uploads highlights from each Bundesliga gameweek.
