Jani Honkavaara’s Järnkaminerna, on the other hand, were unable to bounce back from their heavy defeat in Stockholm last week, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by AIK in the Swedish top flight over the weekend.
Marcus Danielson’s 26th-minute penalty gave them the lead in that one, and despite leading for close to an hour, they were unable to hold on for a crucial three points, with Anton Saletros drawing the visitors level on the 83rd minute.
Djurgarden are now in a lowly 11th place in the table after six matches, having won two, drawn two and lost two thus far, sitting just two points clear of the relegation playoffs and eight points adrift of the European qualification spots.
