David Moyes Asks Referees to Protect Jack Grealish
David Moyes was furious with the fouls on Jack Grealish at Sunderland and asked the referees to offer the player more protection.
“I think he does [need more protection from referees],” said Moyes (via Yahoo)
“There was a tackle in front of me that looked like a leg breaker to me, I’ve broke both my legs so I’ve got an idea of what it’s like when you’re doing it and I thought there was one which came very close to that.”

Between 2023 and 2025, Grealish has sat out matches with groin, hamstring, and hip issues. These setbacks hurt his momentum, and thus, effectiveness in FPL. Across club and country, he could not made the squad on 17 occasions. There were more matches where his minutes were managed due to a lack of fitness.
David Moyes has called for more protection for his midfielder. Considering how integral he has become, it will not be surprising if Moyes starts subbing him off a little early to save him for big matches. All things considered, owning Grealish in FPL seems like a gamble not worth taking.

Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea) – £6.7 Million
Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez is also a pretty great replacement for Jack Grealish in FPL. The Argentinian has been in fine form this season, scoring 45 points from nine matches.
In Cole Palmer’s absence, Fernandez has played further up the field, which has boosted his attacking output.
Iliman Ndiaye (Everton) – £6.5 Million
If you want a Jack Grealish replacement from Everton itself, look no further than Iliman Ndiaye. With 52 points, the midfielder is now the highest-scoring Everton player in FPL. He averages 5.2 points per matches and is nailed on to start.
