Jobe Bellingham to Complete Borussia Dortmund Medical on Monday

As per transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, Jobe Bellingham will go through his medical examination for Borussia Dortmund on June 9. He will then sign a five-year deal with the club.

Jobe Bellingham, set for medical tests today and then he will sign five year deal as new Borussia Dortmund player.

Story confirmed.”

Jobe Bellingham to Become Sunderland’s Record Sale and Dortmund’s Second-Most Expensive Signing

Jobe Bellingham, just like his brother Jude, delivered stellar performances in the Championship across the 2024/25 season. After helping Sunderland seal a top-six finish, Bellingham put in a massive shift to push them over the line in the Championship play-offs.

Not only did he impress with his performances, but he is also leaving Sunderland with an excellent parting gift. According to major outlets, the newly promoted Premier League side have accepted a £27.8 million plus £4.2 million fee for Bellingham. The agreement also includes a meaty 15% sell-on clause. Once the deal goes through, he will become the most expensive sale in the club’s history.

Bellingham will also become the second-most expensive signing in Borussia Dortmund’s storied history — that, too, without the £4.2 million in add-ons. Only Ousmane Dembele, who joined from Stade Rennais for €35 million (£29.5 million), is ahead of the 19-year-old central midfielder.

Jude Bellingham, who was eyeing £27 million luxury properties in January, is currently the fourth-most expensive signing in Dortmund’s history. At the age of 17, he joined from Birmingham City for €30.2 million in 2020.

Jobe Bellingham Stats and Position

Like his brother, Jobe Bellingham also came through Birmingham City before pledging allegiance to Sunderland in 2023. Before leaving Birmingham, he played 26 games — primarily as an attacking midfielder — but could not score or assist.

At Sunderland, he dropped down to the centre of the park. He played in higher and lower midfield positions, as well, but not as frequently. In his debut season, he scored 7 goals and provided an assist in 45 Championship matches. In the following 2024/25 campaign, Bellingham played 40 league games, scoring 4 goals and claiming 3 assists. He also clocked 300 minutes of football across three play-off matches.

Bellingham works tirelessly from start to finish, is a versatile midfielder, and knows how to pick his passes. If he can settle in at Dortmund like his big brother did and learn the ropes of top-flight football, the sky is the limit for the 19-year-old.
