Jose Mourinho Is SENT OFF Against Manchester United In The UEFA Europa League

A Jose Mourinho red card was the major talking point as Fenerbahce and Manchester United met in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night. 

Mourinho was the manager at Old Trafford between 2016-2018. In his time there, he won the League Cup as well as Europe’s secondary club competition.

Back in the mid 2000s, Mourinho made his name when he guided Chelsea to successive Premier League titles. The Portuguese gaffer has won trophies with every club he has been with bar one.

The self-proclaimed Special One is rarely out of the spotlight. Whether that be for how he handles the press, his showboating on the sidelines or his questionable discipline.

Jose Mourinho Red Card Against Manchester United

A Jose Mourinho red card is quickly becoming the norm for the Portuguese gaffer. In his three years with Roma, the 61-year-old received his marching orders an incredible five times.

Unsurprisingly, that was more than any other Serie A player in the same time frame. Mourinho has only overseen 15 games since taking over at Fenerbahce in June and he has his first red.

The reason for the Mourinho red card against Manchester United was due to the fact the Yellow Canaries were denied a second-half penalty.

Former Queens Park Rangers winger Bright Osayi-Samuel was apparently fouled by Manuel Ugarte in the penalty box. When the appeals were turned down, Mourinho went full Mourinho.

Referee Clement Turpin waved away the protests from the home side. Left perplexed by the decision, Mourinho vented furiously to fourth official Jeremy Stinat.

That is when Turpin hurried over to defuse the situation by showing the red card. Mourinho had to watch out the rest of the game from the stands.

Christian Eriksen gave United the lead after 15 minutes. An incredible Andre Onana double save kept the scores level before Youssef En-Nesyri finally hit back for the hosts.
