Giorgio Chiellini hinted that Juventus want to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Tottenham.

The striker has endured a mixed loan spell under Thomas Frank at the Premier League side and could return to Turin before the transfer window closes.

Kolo Muani joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season, but has scored just two goals in his 23 appearances for Spurs. As a result, he is said to be open to leaving.

Juventus Want Randal Kolo Muani Return

Despite the frontman scoring in Spurs’ Champions League showdown against Eintracht Frankfurt, speculation is rife over his future.

Sensing an opportunity, Serie A giants Juventus are working to secure a surprise comeback – but there are multiple stumbling blocks.

Speaking on Wednesday, Chiellini, the Old Lady’s director of football strategy, appeared to confirm the interest in Kolo Muani, pointing to his impressive previous stint in Turin.

“Tottenham are playing tonight, so it’s not fair to discuss it now,” said Chiellini. “We are looking for players who can improve our squad and that is not easy in January.

“Kolo was very happy with us last season, but he is not a Juventus player now.

“We’ll see. Everyone wants to strengthen the group and give the coach a few more options to choose from. But I cannot give you the percentages for certain players.”

Should the deal progress, it would likely be a straight loan until the end of the season. Talks will continue this week to determine whether Spurs would be open to letting him leave.

Juventus would then need to negotiate directly with PSG, as well as the player himself.

Tottenham want Jean-Philippe Mateta and could hijack Nottingham Forest’s £35million bid before the transfer window closes, making him a potential replacement for Kolo Muani.

Big Fabrizio Romano Update

According to Fabrizio Romano, Kolo Muani is open to joining Juventus after positive discussions.

Providing an update on the saga on his YouTube channel, he said: “Juventus spoke to Kolo Muani’s agents this evening.

“Juventus has this feeling this evening that they might eventually get an opening from the player. We’d say that Juve believes they’re clearing the player’s path amid the various issues that complicate Kolo Muani’s dream. So, Kolo Muani’s temptation is there.

“It’s a Juve that has positive feelings, from the boy’s perspective, despite last summer’s disappointment with Kolo Muani.

“Kolo Muani was expected to be a Juventus player by the end of the summer. At the end of August, the final day arrived, and he found himself at Tottenham, which wasn’t his first choice.

“Today, Kolo Muani is re-teaming with Juventus, and he feels like Juve might actually tempt him. From Thursday, Juve hopes to understand whether Tottenham will release Randal Kolo Muani.”

Kolo Muani has made 23 appearances for Spurs so far this season, scoring two goals.

Tottenham’s impressive 2-0 victory in Frankfurt secured them a top-eight spot and confirmed they avoided a dreaded play-off, a significant boost for under-pressure boss Frank.
