Adeyemi Manchester United

Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Karim Adeyemi joining Manchester United amid a public fallout with Borussia Dortmund boss Niko Kovac.

Karim Adeyemi Dortmund Future In Doubt

The future of Borussia Dortmund and Germany winger Karim Adeyemi is said to be clouded in doubt off the back of a public fallout with BVB boss Niko Kovac.

Adeyemi, who is without a goal or an assist since September, launched a water bottle at the bench after being substituted during his side’s narrow 1-0 win over Koln last month.

This led to Kovac publicly condemning the 23-year-old’s behaviour.

He told members of the media following the full-time whistle: “I think that’s unnecessary. It’s okay that he can be angry sometimes, but that’s unnecessary, he’s an adult.”

Since then, Adeyemi has continued to disappoint his club manager.

Kovac was visibly frustrated by his decision making against Hamburg at the weekend, leading to his withdrawal after 66 minutes. Adding to his frustration, Dortmund were held to a 1-1 draw.

This performance was seemingly the final straw for Kovac and Dortmund.

Reports from Germany suggest that the Bundesliga giants are now looking to offload the former Bayern Munich academy star, with Manchester United among his likely suitors.

Odds Slashed On Adeyemi Joining Manchester United

Ruben Amorim and Manchester United are said to be monitoring Adeyemi’s situation.

The club have been long-time admirers of the German and could now be set to benefit from his public fallout with the Borussia Dortmund manager.

Adeyemi is under contract at Westfalenstadion until 2027 and is valued at around £60m-£80m.

United’s position in the race for Adeyemi is also boosted by the fact that the winger has recently appointed Jorge Mendes as his agent.

Mendes has brokered several deals involving the Old Trafford club in recent seasons, including the signings of Leny Yoro from Lille and Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite their interest, there is nothing concrete in terms of talks between both clubs as of yet.

Based on the bookmakers’ odds though, the Red Devils are seemingly leading the race for the forward.

His price has been slashed from 5/1 to 1/2 to join the 20-time English champions.

It comes off the back of a strong spell of form for United, with the club climbing up to seventh place in the Premier League table ahead of November’s international window.

Amorim had been listed among the favourites in the Premier League sack race odds, but after going unbeaten in his last five matches, he is now priced at a lengthy 20/1 to be sacked next.

Meanwhile, Adeyemi is rated at 2/1 to stay at Dortmund, while Liverpool are at 14/1 to seal his signature and Bayern, Chelsea and Juventus are all priced at 16/1 to sign him.

In 14 appearances across all competitions this term, Adeyemi has totalled three goals and three assists.
