Manchester United Confirm Lisandro Martinez Has Sustained An ACL Injury In His Left Knee
The latest Lisandro Martinez injury update has confirmed that the Manchester United defender is set for an extended spell on the sidelines.
On Sunday, the Red Devils defender was stretchered off against Crystal Palace after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Martinez was visibly distraught after the incident in the 2-0 Premier League loss to the Eagles. Now, the worst fears have been fully established with the Argentine set to miss the rest of the season.
It’s a huge blow for the 27-year-old who was enjoying a rich vein of form since the turn of the year. ‘The Butcher’ was flourishing at both ends of the pitch.
In January, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner scored vital goals against Liverpool and Fulham. Martinez also starred in the FA Cup victory against Arsenal.
Manchester United are likely to be without Lisandro Martinez for the rest of the season 🚨

Lisandro Martinez Injury Update Confirms The Worse
“We can confirm that Lisandro Martinez suffered an injury to his cruciate ligament in Sunday’s game against Crystal Palace. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Licha,” Manchester United posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Naturally, supporters have shared their thoughts and feelings online with many left devastated at the diagnosis. Especially as he was a threat at both ends of the pitch.
Now the transfer window has shut, Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim is unable to sign a replacement. With that said, Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven were drafted in but aren’t considered to boast the same attributes as Martinez.
As it stands, United’s centre-back options include Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, Jonny Evans and Heaven. Additionally, Casemiro could be used in defence if required.
However, it won’t be no easy feat for Amorim to replace Martinez. Considering how well he has played in recent weeks and with the Portuguese gaffer already under pressure.
