Liverpool West Ham Highlights

Watch Liverpool Vs West Ham highlights as Virgil van Dijk’s late winner brought Liverpool within touching distance of the Premier League title.

Liverpool could be just three points away from the title after securing a late victory against West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday.

The result means that should Arsenal lose against Ipswich – Arne Slot’s side can claim the title with a victory against Leicester.

Fresh from signing a new two-year deal at the club, Mohamed Salah provided a perfect pass to set up Luis Diaz for the opening goal after 18 minutes.

But Liverpool were unable to extend their lead, and looked to have blown it when Andy Robertson’s own goal gave the visitors an equaliser just four minutes from time.

The hosts were spared a disappointing result, though, thanks to the reliable head of Van Dijk.

Rising highest to meet a 90th-minute corner, the Dutchman nodded home the winner to send Liverpool 13 points clear of second-placed Arsenal.

West Ham came close to an equaliser several times before eventually forcing Robertson to turn it into his own net.

Only a fine goalkeeping display from Alisson in the Liverpool goal denies the visitors at least one more goal.

Mohammed Kudus saw a superb chipped effort tipped onto the bar before the break, with Alisson denying him once more in the second period, along with Jarrod Bowen.

Liverpool almost grabbed a second when Alexis Mac Allister clattered the bar with a free kick, but their missed chances meant a nervy finish to the game.

It may not have been a vintage Liverpool performance, but another three points means they are now mathematically assured of Champions League football next season.

West Ham are not yet safe, but remain 14 points clear of the drop and almost certain of survival.

Next up, Liverpool travel to Leicester City on Sunday, while West Ham host bottom club Southampton.
