Mohamed Salah enjoyed a perfect 10/10 performance as Liverpool put one hand on the Premier League title with a 2-0 win over Manchester City on Super Sunday.

Manchester City player ratings

GK: Ederson – 4

Deflection took the first goal out of his reach and not much he could do about the second either. Not his finest hour but not to blame by any means.

RB: Rico Lewis – 4

City are surely regretting letting Kyle Walker leave, even though Walker himself was on a slippery slope. Lewis another bang average player who has no place in a title-defending side.

CB: Abdukodir Khusanov – 5

Made one important last man tackle with five clearances. Far from perfect but at just 20-years-old he’s the last man to point the finger at for a showing like today.

CB: Nathan Ake – 4

Dribbled past once and failed to win any of his duels. Hard to say he did much wrong but didn’t do anything right at the same time.

LB: Josko Gvardiol – 4

Poor performance. One error leading to a shot, dribbled past twice and was not at the races. Another City player who has regressed significantly.

CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 3

A shadow of his former self, someone get this man a one-way ticket to the MLS. Highlight of the game was almost putting the ball out for a throw-in with an effort from outside the box.

CM: Nico Gonzalez – 5

Appeared overwhelmed by Liverpool’s high intensity in midfield but his passing was accurate and for the most part kept it tidy.

RW: Savinho – 5

Kept quiet by Andy Robertson.

CAM: Phil Foden – 5

Complete passenger, both efforts on goal were extremely tame. Lost possession 15 times and struggled throughout.

LW: Jeremy Doku – 6

Stays aggressive at all times, providing a solid wide threat and probably City’s most lively performer.

ST: Omar Marmoush – 6

Looks a decent talent, managed to force a few saves out of Alisson but nothing major.

Substitutes:

James McAtee – 5

Ilkay Gundogan – 5

Ruben Dias – 5

Mateo Kovacic – 5

Liverpool player ratings

GK: Alisson – 7

Made five saves and kept a good clean sheet. Standard day at the office with nothing overly troubling coming in his direction.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6

Liverpool fans won’t be losing any sleep over Alexander-Arnold heading to the Bernabeu in the summer. Conor Bradley would not have been dribbled past 11 times today.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – 7

Five clearances, one interception and one tackle. It’s easy to look good playing next to his centre-back partner but Konate enjoyed a solid afternoon once again. Reliable.

CB: Virgil van Dijk – 8

Even after suffering horrible injuries, Van Dijk remains one of the world’s best centre-backs. Was not dribbled past once, made nine clearances and blocked three shots. Colossal.

LB: Andy Robertson – 7

Did a solid job keeping Savinho out of the game and made three good tackles. At 30-years-old some argue his time is coming to an end but he does all of the dirty work no one notices.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch – 7

Covered plenty of ground but didn’t do anything of note. Solid workhorse who you can rely on to be in the right position at all times.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 7

Accurate passing throughout and his smart corner led to the opening goal. Also made a number of good clearances, better in a more advanced position however.

RW: Mohamed Salah – 10

Smart finish to grab the opener for his 50th goal involvement this season. Added another with the assist to Szoboszlai, usual magical performance.

LW: Luis Diaz – 7

Kept Rico Lewis busy all afternoon, a lot of cardio and not much work on the ball though.

CAM: Curtis Jones – 8

Decent showing playing behind the frontman Szoboszlai, offside goal ruled out was unlucky. Underrated performer because he doesn’t do anything flashy.

CF: Dominik Szoboszlai – 9

Clever flick from the corner to set up Salah’s goal. Combined with the Egyptian again, brilliant finish to make it 2-0. Looked comfortable in the false nine role.

Substitutes:

Konstantinos Tsimikas – 5
