Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United are set to sign 18-year-old centre-back Ayden Heaven from Arsenal despite interest from Barcelona and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Ayden Heaven Set To Join Manchester United From Arsenal

Manchester United are set to sign 18-year-old academy centre-back Ayden Heaven from Premier League rivals Arsenal, according to football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano confirms that the youngster has rejected a professional contract offer from the Gunners, as well as an approach from Eintracht Frankfurt, while Barcelona were also reportedly keen on landing his signature.

The Italian wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account: “Ayden Heaven to Manchester United, here we go!

“Exclusive story from last week confirmed as 18-year-old centre-back’s set to leave Arsenal and join Manchester United.

“Medical booked after he rejected new deal from Arsenal and Eintracht approaches. Agreement being formally sealed.”

Heaven, who mainly operates as a centre-back but is also capable of playing at left-back, was spotted in attendance at Old Trafford for the Red Devils’ Europa League win over Rangers last week.

An England Under-19 international, he has made a total of 14 appearances for the Gunners’ youth sides this term and made his senior debut for the club as a late substitute in October’s Carabao Cup win over Preston.

While he is yet to make his Premier League debut, Mikel Arteta has shown faith in the London native by naming him on the bench in the English top-flight on three occasions.

Arteta is known to be a big fan of Heaven, having previously praised the talent after he impressed during a pre-season match against United last summer.

The Spaniard said: “Very impressive. I don’t know how many players are able to perform like that on a stage like this at his age. His reaction, quality, and body language were remarkable. I’m really happy with him.”

Heaven is set to become the second Arsenal youngster to make the move to Manchester United in recent seasons, following on from Chido Obi-Martin’s transfer last summer.
