Manchester United have reportedly tabled a €30 million (£26.3 million) offer for Real Betis striker Cucho Hernandez.
The Red Devils want to reinforce their attack in the January transfer window and view Cucho as an attainable target.
Cucho is not the only player Manchester United are interested in, with Olympiacos youngster Christos Mouzakitis also linked. However, with Real Madrid also interested, United face competition for Mouzakitis.
Manchester United Ready to Pay €30m for Cucho Hernandez
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes.net, Manchester United have been impressed by Cucho Hernandez’s remarkable start at Real Betis.
In his first full season since joining from MLS side Columbus Crew, Cucho has impressed in both LaLiga and the Europa League. He has scored five goals and provided two assists in Spain and found the net once in three European outings.
The Colombian forward has become one of the first names on Manuel Pellegrini’s team sheet. Not only is he a prominent goal threat, but he also excels in linking up, creating chances, and providing defensive cover for his team.

Cucho’s contract with Betis does not expire until June 2030, and the club are delighted with his performances. Betis acknowledge that losing him in January could be a big blow to their chances of excelling in LaLiga and the Europa League.
However, Man Utd’s alleged bid in the £26 million region is too big an offer for Betis to ignore. They could use the funds from Cucho’s sale to balance the books and remain compliant with LaLiga’s financial regulations.
Cucho Could Help Man United During AFCON
The 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) will run from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
Manchester United are one of the worst-affected teams in the Premier League, as they are set to lose Bryan Mbeumo (Cameroon), Noussair Mazraoui (Morocco), and Amad Diallo (Ivory Coast).
United’s Premier League top scorer (5 goals in 13 games) Mbeumo could miss eight games due to AFCON duty. Without their most prominent goal threat, Man United could find it difficult to navigate the fixture-packed festive period.

Ruben Amorim’s side have only recently found their footing, beating Crystal Palace 2-1 after failing to win their previous three Premier League matches.
The Old Trafford outfit have to carry the momentum to have a shot at finishing inside the top six.
Signing a player like Cucho Hernandez could prove to be an excellent move for Man United.
Cucho has an abundance of experience, has been in top form this season, can play in multiple positions, and might be open to accepting a rotational role at a bigger club.
It will be interesting to see how this situation develops in the coming weeks.
