Harry Maguire Wins Chaotic Match For Ten Man Manchester United Against Ipswich

Watch Manchester United Vs Ipswich highlights as Harry Maguire’s second-half header wins it for Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

United had to do it the hard way once again after gifting Ipswich the opener in just the fourth minute.

England defender Maguire’s powerful header from a Bruno Fernandes corner was enough to win the chaotic five-goal thriller.

The hosts went down to ten men in the first half after Patrick Dorgu was sent off.

He was dismissed following a VAR intervention for his horror tackle on Ipswich winger Omari Hutchinson.

Referee Darren England initially missed the foul, but VAR Craig Pawson stepped in to confirm serious foul play and recommend a red card.

Ipswich took advantage within minutes as Jaden Phologene’s cross went all the way in past Andre Onana in the United goal.

The Cameroon keeper’s worst moment of the night came in the opening minutes, though.

As Dorgu dealt with as long ball, the pair got mixed up and Dorgu played the ball straight to Philogene for an easy goal.

United then levelled through a Sam Morsy own goal. He headed into his own net while failing to deal with a free kick from Bruno Fernandes.

The hosts then took the lead when Matthijs de Ligt scrambled the ball in after United were denied twice in quick succession.

Philogene restored parity, in added time before the break, with Maguire’s winner coming two minutes after the restart.

The win is just United boss Ruben Amorim’s third home Premier League victory since taking over at Old Trafford.

His side move up to 14th in the table, 16 points above the bottom three but 14 below the top four.

Their next game is on Sunday, when they host Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round.

Ipswich remain in the drop zone on 17 points, five from safety.

They are in action next on Monday 8 March, with their FA Cup tie away at Nottingham Forest.
