Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has become a grandfather for the very first time, with his son Emmanuel Jr preparing for his pro debut.
Pacquiao almost won a world title in his last fight earlier this year, and looks set for another crack at world honours despite now being a grandad.
Manny Pacquiao Becomes Grandfather With Son Preparing For Pro Debut
Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has become a grandfather at the age of 46.
The eight-division world champion is still an active fighter having challenged Mario Barrios for the WBC World Welterweight Title earlier this year, and will now have to juggle grandparent duties with his boxing career.
The former Senate of the Philippines returned to the ring after almost four years out of the ring, drawing with Barrios back in July meaning the Mexican retained his 147-pound world title.
It seems that Pacquiao is planning on fighting on, despite now becoming a grandfather. Not only has ‘PacMan’ become a grandad, but he is also preparing to watch his son Emmanuel Pacquiao Jr make his pro boxing debut this Saturday night.

Pacquiao is officially the fifth most followed boxer on Instagram, meaning his son Emmanuel Jr already has millions of people watching him.
As he prepares to make his pro debut, Pacquiao has been on hand to help his son prepare. Whether or not Emmanuel Jr goes on to be half as good as his father remains to be seen, but he has a lot to live up to given his surname.
Pacquiao may well be in the corner for his son’s debut on Saturday night, but then again might be called in grandparent duties instead.
Now that his son has his own child to think about, his debut has got even more riding on it now. Pacquiao Jr has something to fight for, with his eight-weight world champion father helping him every step of the way.

Grandad Manny Pacquiao Set For World Welterweight Title Clash In 2026
Although Manny Pacquiao is officially a grandfather at 46-years-old, he is still very much an active fighter and a huge player on the world stage in the welterweight division.
Former world champion Amir Khan called out Pacquiao amid Floyd Mayweather rematch rumours, but it seems the eight-division boxing king has bigger fish to fry in an attempt to become world champion once again.
There have been reports that ‘PacMan’ will challenge Rolly Romero next in 2026 for the WBA World Welterweight Title, with official confirmation of this match-up expected to come in due course.
Should he be granted a shot at Romero’s 147-pound crown, Pacquiao would have the chance of winning his 13 world title, having already won 12 across eight weight divisions.
Romero surprised boxing fans by beating Ryan Garcia last time out, and looks like he will defend his black-and-gold belt against Pacquiao before the summer of 2026.
By the time the fight comes around, Pacquiao will be 47. Should he beat Romero and become world champion once again, the Filipino boxing icon would become the second oldest world champion in history behind Bernard Hopkins, who won the WBA-Super World Light-Heavyweight Title at the age of 49.
Before he worries about another world title fight, Manny Pacquiao will first have to carry out grandad duties after his son, who makes his pro debut this weekend, became a father himself.
