Fulham boss Marco Silva appears increasingly resigned to losing star man Harry Wilson this summer.Â
The playmaker is out of contract at the end of the season, but has been in superb form for the Cottagers throughout the campaign.
His stunning last-minute winner against Brighton at the weekend was his eighth goal of the season and third in four games.
At the age of 28, Wilson is playing the best football of his career, and his potential availability on a free transfer in the summer is capturing the interest of plenty of Premier League rivals.
Marco Silva’s Sends Message To Fulham Board
Silva’s latest comments surrounding Wilson’s future beyond the season suggest they are facing a losing battle in their battle to get him to sign a new deal.
However, he’s urged the Fulham hierarchy to pull out all the stops to convince him to stay.
Silva said: “We are in the fight, we are trying to keep him.
“If you ask me if it’s going to be easy, I say it’s not going to be easy. The more he scores, many more clubs are going to be around him.
“This is football business. When a player goes to the end of his contract, this kind of thing is going to happen.
“I know he’s happy in our club and how much he’s enjoying the moment. It’s up to the club to do the maximum to keep him.”
Wilson is aware that becoming a free agent will see him pocket a large sign-on fee, while he’ll be able to negotiate his wage packet against potential suitors.
The likes of Everton will be interested, while Aston Villa and Crystal Palace could be potential destinations. The Toffees take on Leeds on Monday night in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
Wilson’s future is mirroring that of Silva, who is also out of contract at the end of the season.
The Fulham boss won’t be short of interest if he becomes available, and Newcastle could be one club keeping a close eye on his future.

Fulham are continuing to work on a deal to bring Manchester City’s Oscar Bobb to the club in a deal worth £30million.
Pep Guardiola is happy to allow Bobb to leave the club with competition for places rife at the Etihad.
However, Bobb is currently delaying putting pen-to-paper on his contract because he wants to bide his time until the end of the window to see if any other options become available.
Guardiola admitted at the weekend that Bobb wants to leave in search of regular football.
He said after their 2-0 victory over Wolves: “I think so (he wants to leave.) I don’t know yet. I know there are rumours, I know there are talks, but I don’t know right now.”
