Mason Greenwood transfer news: PSG, Barcelona lining up bids for former Manchester United star
European giants PSG and Barcelona are lining up bids for former Manchester United star and current Marseille marksman Mason Greenwood.
Mason Greenwood transfer news: PSG, Barcelona hold strong interest
According to various sources, PSG have tabled a verbal offer of £62 million to sign Greenwood at the end of the season as the French giants look to seal the deal quickly and efficiently amid wider interest in Europe.
Barcelona are believed to hold interest alongside Bayern Munich but PSG are considered the favourites at this point in time and it’s already clear the player has a knack for playing in France.
Greenwood’s former club Manchester United reportedly hold a 50% sell-on clause as part of the deal which sent the 23-year-old to Marseille last year, which could net the Red Devils a payday of around £30 million.
In 24 appearances for Marseille this season Greenwood has tallied an impressive 15 goals and four assists as Roberto De Zerbi’s side act as the strongest challengers to league leaders PSG.
Following the player’s suspension by United in January 2022 over allegations of attempted rape and assault, he resumed his career on loan with Getafe in La Liga before making a permanent switch to France.
Greenwood is one of two Marseille players in history to score at least 13 goals in their first 20 Ligue 1 appearances alongside former Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

It sounds like Greenwood has turned his life around for the better in Marseille, most recently welcoming a second child with partner Harriet Robson and keeping a low profile.
He has also considered switching international allegiances to represent Jamaica in recent months with the door seemingly closed on a return to action for England.
During his time in Manchester it was clear Greenwood possessed incredible natural ability and it is no surprise to see his career taking off in France.
