Mercedes have unveiled a special Silverstone livery for this weekend’s British Grand Prix, with fans suggesting it may reveal a hint about the team’s future driver lineup.
The British Grand Prix is back, with teams pulling out all the stops to celebrate 75 years of Silverstone.
It’s one of the most iconic circuits in all of motorsport and holds a special place in the hearts of most fans.
And it’s not just fans that are going all-out for what promises to be a fantastic weekend of racing.
Several teams will feature a special livery at the British Grand Prix.
Mercedes are one of those, though the change from their usual look is subtle.
But despite only a slight tweak, it’s drawn a lot of attention.
Mercedes Silverstone Livery Honours 75 Year Anniversary
According to Mercedes, they have added an orange twist to their livery in honour of the British Grand Prix’s 75th anniversary.
The usual black, silver and teal remains, but this weekend’s car features orange stars on the engine cover.

On top of this, both drivers arrived to the circuit in orange cars, while the Mercedes-AMG safety car for this weekend has also been given an orange makeover.
But while the team have given their reasons for the colour change, fans are suggesting something else at play.
Fans Make Max Verstappen Mercedes Link
Dozens of fans have taken to social media after the orange-tinged Mercedes images were posted.
All had the same thing to say, linking the orange with Dutch driver Max Verstappen.

Reigning four-time champion Verstappen has been heavily linked with a switch from Red Bull.
Earlier this week, it even reported that Verstappen had agreed a 2026 move to Mercedes.
But while that is yet to be confirmed, fans can’t help but make a link between the Dutchman’s home colours and those used by Mercedes this weekend.
Coincidence? Time will tell.
Is Max Verstappen Joining Mercedes?
Nothing is certain in terms of where this saga will end up.
But what is known is that Verstappen and his representatives have held talks with Mercedes about a possible move.
Red Bull’s struggles and rumours that Mercedes have nailed the 2026 regulation changes mean many expect Merc to be fighting at the very front of the grid once again next season.
However, with both drivers in Kimi Antonelli and George Russell out of contract after this season, the team’s future driver lineup remains a mystery.
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff is on record admitting any team would jump at the chance to sign Max Verstappen.
But it remains to be seen whether Mercedes would be willing to drop either of their current lineup.
Some more cynical observers have suggested that talks between Mercedes and Verstappen are merely a negotiating ploy for both parties.
The threat of Verstappen taking his seat could mean George Russell takes a lower contract offer, while Red Bull may be forced into offering Verstappen better terms if they think he could be leaving.
We’ll have to wait and see with this one.
But if it does happen, it would be perhaps the biggest switch in modern F1 history.
