Mohamed Salah has been congratulated on signing a ‘new Liverpool deal’ by a former Egyptian footballer and pundit.

Salah’s contractual situation – along with team-mates Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold – has been one of the big talking points of the season so far.

All three players are in the final year of their respective contracts. Should no deal be signed by January, they will be able to talk to clubs over a pre-contract agreement.

Salah has been in electric form so far this season with 27 goal contributions in 21 appearances. Reports claim Salah is so determined to stay at Liverpool he would be willing to pen a one-year deal.

The 32-year-old has been vocal about the lack of progress so far when it comes to reaching a new deal.

Former Egypt defender and beIN Sport analyst Haytham Farouk has claimed that Salah has reached a new Liverpool deal.

He suggests that Salah has got the terms of the deal that he wanted to sign to extend his stay at Anfield.

“Congratulations on renewing your contract with the number you like and the period you want,” Farouk wrote on X.

“The Egyptian king rules with his own judgments.”

Arne Slot Pleads with FSG Over Salah Contract Situation

Salah who is the favourite to win the PFA Player of the Year award on UK betting sites, scored twice and contributed an assist in their 3-3 draw with Newcastle.

Arne Slot said he expects Salah to stay at Liverpool for a very long time amid speculation over a new deal.

Slot said: “Every time we need Mo Salah, he scores a goal. We are hoping and expecting he can continue this for a long time. He was outstanding in the second half, he did many special things for us.

“He is a special player. For one half, you think he might not be having his best game but then he produces goals, an assist and hits the bar. Very few players can do that.

“It is difficult for me to predict the future but the only thing I can predict is that he is in a very good place and in a very good team that provides him with opportunities.”
