Monday Transfer Rumours Roundup

Bayern Munich Hold Advantage in Marc Guehi Race

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been dealt a boost in their pursuit of Marc Guehi.

This is as Footmercato report that while Manchester City are keen to sign the Crystal Palace defender in January, the England international prefers a move to Germany in the summer.

Guehi’s contract expires at the end of the season, therefore he will be available on a free.

Despite this, City are still pushing for a move this winter. It comes amid an injury crisis across their back line, with Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and John Stones all out for the foreseeable.

As reported in Friday’s transfer roundup, Arsenal have also joined the race for Guehi, while Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona are listed as admirers of the 25-year-old, too.

Everton Eye Move for Arsenal Defender Ben White

Football Insider report that Everton are eyeing a move for Arsenal defender Ben White.

David Moyes’ side are keeping close tabs on the 28-year-old, who has struggled for minutes this term, having featured just 13 times for the Gunners across all competitions.

White was Mikel Arteta’s first choice right-back between 2021 and 2024, however he has since lost that title to Jurrien Timber, while he has also struggled with numerous injury concerns.

The former England international may push for a loan exit to build up some game time between now and the end of the season, with the Toffees listed among the most interested candidates.

Their interest comes amid injuries to Jarrad Branthwaite and Seamus Coleman, while Michael Keane’s red card against Wolves last week has seen him pick up a three-match ban.

Keane will miss Everton’s next two league matches against Aston Villa and Leeds.

Jean-Philippe Mateta Targeted by Juventus

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is being targeted by Serie A giants Juventus.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who report that the Turin-based outfit are on the hunt for a replacement for Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian is set to depart at the end of the season.

Palace previously valued Mateta at around €40m (£34.75m), but with his contract set to expire in 2027, their valuation could be reduced to between €20m (£17.35m) and €25m (£21.7m).

Another Italian top-flight side, AC Milan, tried and failed to sign the Frenchman last summer. Atalanta have also been credited with interest in the 28-year-old in the past.

Borussia Dortmund Monitoring Oscar Bobb Situation

Borussia Dortmund are continuing to monitor Oscar Bobb’s situation at Manchester City.

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reports that January arrival Antoine Semenyo is set to take Bobb’s place in Pep Guardiola’s squad, therefore the Norwegian could depart this winter.

Talks are said to be ongoing, with Dortmund fully informed on the details surrounding the 22-year-old’s potential Cityzens exit. Other clubs are also keen on signing Bobb this January.

Plettenberg also reports that Egypt international forward Omar Marmoush wants to stay at City despite numerous clubs making enquiries about his availability in recent weeks.

In other news from the Etihad, Guardiola’s long-term future is being questioned. Speculation has led Enzo Maresca to become favoured in the next Manchester City manager odds.

Aston Villa Interested in Newcastle’s William Osula

Aston Villa are interested in Newcastle forward William Osula, according to talkSPORT.

They report that Villa have registered their interest in the Danish youngster after being dealt a blow in their pursuit to sign talented Real Madrid and Spain U21 striker Gonzalo Garcia.

Several reports claim that Los Blancos do not want to sell the 21-year-old.

Meanwhile, it has been suggested that the Magpies could be tempted to cash in on Osula, who is also drawing interest from clubs in the Bundesliga, including Eintracht Frankfurt and Stuttgart.

Additionally, Championship high-flyers Ipswich have been credited with interest in the striker.
