Napoli Interested In Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior As Defender Pushes For January Exit

Italian side Napoli are reportedly keen on signing Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior, who is pushing for a January exit.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Kiwior is one of Napoli’s top targets for January – along with Juventus’ Danilo.
Milan Skriniar is also on Napoli’s radar, but it is thought that the PSG star’s salary demands are deemed too much.
Polish international Kiwior is therefore seen as the ideal option by Napoli. The 24-year-old is already keen to leave Arsenal – according to reports – and talks are emerging of a possible loan deal.
Earlier this week, Il Mattino also reported that Kiwior’s agent will soon be in Italy to discuss a move with Napoli.
It is consistently reported that Kiwior is unhappy at the Emirates this season, and likely wants a move in order to play more often.
He has played 13 times for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season but has been mostly limited to substitute appearances.
Kiwior has only completed 90 minutes in the Premier League twice this campaign.
Why Are Napoli Keen On Jakub Kiwior?
Napoli have something of a crisis in defence at the moment. Described by Gazzetta dello Sport as an ’emergency situation’, they have just lost Alessandro Buongiorno to injury and desperately need reinforcements in that area.
They were already short at the back before Buongiorno was sidelined, but are now in desperate need.
While Danilo and Skriniar are both viable options, it’s Kiwior that Napoli want most.
His lack of minutes this season means the Pole is already looking for a move, and will likely come cheaper than the other two.
Kiwior already has Serie A experience with Spezia, and is said to be keen on a return to Italy.
A loan deal was originally planned, but there is now also talk of a permanent move developing given the depths of Napoli’s injury crisis.
