Newcastle United are reportedly prepared to pay over £40 million to sign Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid.
The Magpies are confident that they will be able to afford Diaz after selling wantaway striker Alexander Isak.
Diaz, meanwhile, wants to stay at Real Madrid. Xabi Alonso, however, does not consider him integral to his project.
Star striker Alexander Isak made headlines after refusing to join Newcastle United on their pre-season tour. Liverpool have since pounced on the opportunity, with UK betting sites suggesting that it is a done deal.
The Magpies want around £150 million for Isak. The lofty target now seems attainable for Liverpool, as they have reportedly reached an agreement with Al-Hilal for the transfer of Darwin Nunez. The Merseyside outfit are likely to pocket around £46 million from the sale.
Newcastle United Preparing Big Offer for Real Madrid Outcast Brahim Diaz
In light of Alexander Isak’s imminent departure, Newcastle United have decided to improve their attack. And according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.net, Real Madrid man Brahim Diaz is their attacker of choice.
Newcastle are confident that the funds generated from Isak’s sale would allow them to add Diaz to their ranks. They are reportedly prepared to spend between €40 million and €50 million (£35–£44m) for the Morocco international.

Newcastle want a player who has proved his mettle in big matches. Although Diaz never got to nail down his place in the starting XI, he produced brilliant moments time and time again. Eddie Howe also values his technical ability and positional flexibility.
His impressive showings have drawn the attention of multiple Premier League clubs, with Newcastle aiming to be the first one to capitalise. The Toons are simply waiting for Isak’s deal to go through to go all out for Diaz.
Diaz Wants Madrid Stay But Open to New Challenge
Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti started Brahim Diaz on the bench in most matches. However, he got his fair share of chances coming off the bench.
In contrast, Xabi Alonso does not count on Diaz, not even as a rotational player. Los Blancos have signed Franco Mastantuono this summer, and it is believed that the youngster would be able to fill in for Diaz on the right wing.

Diaz sees his Real Madrid deal expire in June 2027. He is currently discussing an extension with Madrid, but will not sign it unless his role is defined. If he does not get the assurance of playing regularly, he is open to leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
Having already been exposed to Premier League football, thanks to his time with Manchester City, Diaz could find the Newcastle project rather lucrative.
Diaz is not the only Real Madrid star linked with a move to the Premier League this summer. Tottenham Hotspur are also in the mix, with them eyeing a move for Rodrygo. Bookmakers recently slashed the odds of the transfer, but Spurs will not find it easy to land the Brazilian.
Real Madrid ideally want a full €100 million (£87 million) for Rodrygo. However, they may have to settle for around £70 million if they cannot draw offers for the Brazilian.
