Newcastle are favourites to sign Yoane Wissa this summer after the forward left Brentford’s pre-season training camp amid uncertainty over his future.

Yoane Wissa Leaves Brentford Camp Amid Exit Talks

Brentford star Yoane Wissa has returned to London from the Bees’ Portugal training camp amid growing uncertainty over his future at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The BBC report that the 28-year-old is due to hold talks with the club’s director of football Phil Giles, with three Premier League sides heavily keen on landing the Congolese striker.

Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur are the three interested parties.

It is understood that Wissa has become unsettled by speculation over his future, with the Magpies reportedly intensifying their efforts to land the ChĂąteauroux academy product.

Wissa is said to prefer a move away from Brentford this summer. His meeting with Giles is expected to be crucial in whatever decision is made in regard to his future.

The versatile forward recorded a total of 20 goals and five assists in 39 appearances for the West Londoners last term, striking up a formidable partnership with Bryan Mbeumo.

Mbeumo has since joined Manchester United for an initial ÂŁ65m fee. News that United had agreed a deal for Mbuemo put Newcastle’s move for Wissa in doubt. However, should Wissa follow the Cameroonian out the door, he is expected to command a fee of around ÂŁ40m.

Newcastle Favourites To Land Wissa

According to the UK’s best football betting sites, Newcastle are favoured to sign Wissa.

It comes following the Magpies’ failed attempt to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. The Frenchman has, instead, opted to join Liverpool for a reported ÂŁ79m fee.

Ekitike arrived in London on Tuesday morning to undergo his medical.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest, who have also been heavily linked with Wissa, are second favourites. Bookmakers have them at 6/4 to land the DR Congo international.

Spurs follow as third favourites in the market at 2/1. A move to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium would see Wissa link up with his former Bees coach, Thomas Frank.

Also included among the betting market are a further three Premier League sides. Aston Villa are rated at around 10/1 to sign the striker, while Arsenal and West Ham are priced at 16/1.

Additionally, Ligue 1 outfit Marseille are considered as outsiders by the bookies at 33/1.
