Newcastle Rayan

Premier League side Newcastle are expected to send a formal offer for Vasco da Gama winger Rayan, according to reports from Brazil.

Newcastle To Make Rayan Bid

Vasco da Gama winger Rayan is once again being linked with a move to Newcastle United.

The youngster was was linked with a move to St James’ Park earlier this month, but the Magpies reportedly ‘cooled’ their interest after Vasco demanded ÂŁ43.5m to allow the forward to leave.

His contract at SĂŁo JanuĂĄrio runs until 2028 and includes a ÂŁ69m release clause.

It is understood that Newcastle are now expected to return to the table to reignite transfer discussions, with Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte reporting that a bid could be lodged on Tuesday.

Rayan reportedly did not take part in training on Monday due to ongoing negotiations.

Alternatively, he trained alone at the club’s gym, suggesting that talks have begun taking effect.

The 19-year-old was rested for the goalless draw against Nova Iguacu last time out but could return against Flamengo on Wednesday night. The fixture may be his final game for Vasco.

Bournemouth Also Interested in Rayan

Alongside Newcastle, fellow Premier League side Bournemouth want to sign Rayan this winter.

In fact, reports claim that the starlet has agreed on personal terms on a move to the Vitality.

A club-to-club agreement is all that remains before the prospective transfer reaches its final stages, with the Cherries making an offer worth a reported ÂŁ30m for the Rio de Janeiro native.

Bournemouth are in the market for a new goalscoring attacker following the departure of Antoine Semenyo, who joined Manchester City in a ÂŁ64m deal earlier in January.

Russian Premier League side Zenit Saint Petersburg have also lodged a ÂŁ30m bid.

Vasco still see that figure as below their valuation of Rayan, and they are hoping to receive a fee worth closer to ÂŁ35m before parting ways with the highly sought-after youngster.

Newcastle hope they are able to beat the aforementioned pair to the Brazil U20 international’s signature, while Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are also interested.

Elsewhere, the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool, AC Milan, Lazio, Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Tottenham, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal and more have all been linked previously.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are linked with James Trafford in their hunt for a new goalkeeper. The Manchester City and England stopper could become available on loan this month.

The Magpies are next in action on Tuesday night, as they host PSV on MD7 of the Champions League league phase. Next up in the league, they welcome Aston Villa to Tyneside on Saturday.
