Newcastle and Reds Secure Point A Piece In Six Goal Thriller

It took 35 minutes for the deadlock to be broken at St James’ Park. It was the returning Alexander Isak who gave Newcastle the lead, with the hosts going in one goal to the good at the break.

The Reds came fast out of the blocks in the second half, equalising just five minutes after the break. It was local boy Curtis Jones who scored, with Mo Salah turning provider to level the scores in the north-east.

The visitors weren’t level for long, with former Everton man Anthony Gordon giving Newcastle the lead for the second time. After scoring the first for Eddie Howe’s side, Isak turned provider for Gordon this time around.

Just six minutes later that man Salah levelled for the Reds, with Trent Alexander-Arnold making an instant impact with the assist for Liverpool’s main man. The visitors were pre-match favourites with the best football betting sites in the UK, and they looked like they could go on to take all three points.

Seven minutes from time and the visitors took the front for the first time. Salah once again netted, with Liverpool momentarily extending their lead at the top of the Premier League table to nine points.

However, the hosts had the last laugh as they levelled in the ninetieth minute. Bruno Guimaraes grabbed his second assist of the night, with defender Fabian Schar finding the equaliser for the Magpies.

The 3-3 draw means Liverpool remain top of the league with a seven point cushion, meanwhile Newcastle jump up one place to into the top half of the table, at least momentarily.
