Novak Djokovic’s ‘best shot’ of winning a 25th Grand Slam singles title comes at Wimbledon, Tim Henman has confessed.
The former British No 1 tennis star made the claim off of the back of Djokovic falling short at the 2025 Australian Open. It was only due to injury that the Serb had to chuck the towel in during his semi-final clash with Alexander Zverev.
As it stands, Djokovic is tied with legendary Aussie Margaret Court on 24 victories. The Serbinator endured a poor 2024 by his own high standards.
The 37-year-old failed to win any of the four majors. He also suffered a surprising 3rd round defeat in the U.S. Open to Alexei Popyrin in New York.
However, Djokovic did come close to landing the big one in SW19 last summer but was beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in the singles final.
Novak Djokovic’s Best Chance Of A 25th Grand Slam Comes At Wimbledon
“I think Wimbledon is his best shot to win a 25th Grand Slam,” Tim Henman explained to reporters when quizzed about Djokovic’s chances.
“He made the final last year on the back of knee surgery. And I think it’s a combination of his confidence and understanding of grass-court tennis, and there perhaps being fewer other players who are comfortable on grass.
“You look at who realistically could have won in Australia, there was four, maybe five players? On grass it probably ends up being even less…Jannik Sinner has been in the semis, but I think grass is probably the surface that he’s most vulnerable on; there’s Djokovic and Alcaraz, but beyond that it’s difficult to predict.”
If Djokovic was to win Wimbledon in 2025, he’ll set another record. As it stands, Roger Federer has the most men’s singles titles with eight.
Djokovic is just behind the legendary Swiss superstar with seven wins to his name. If Nole can avoid any serious injuries, a 25th Grand Slam and record-equalling Wimbledon victory could easily become reality.
According to the best tennis betting sites in the UK, Djokovic can be backed at 9/2. The current favourite is Carlos Alcaraz. The reigning champions is available at 7/4.
World No 1 Jannik Sinner is the second favourite. The Italian star can be backed at 13/8.
