West Ham are reportedly on the verge of sacking first-team manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Espirito Santo is the new favourite in the Premier League sack race odds market. It comes off the back of Ruben Amorim’s dismissal as Manchester United manager on Monday morning.
The 51-year-old has endured a turbulent spell at the London Stadium since being appointed in September, with the Hammers currently languishing in the Premier League’s relegation zone.
They occupy 18th place in the table after 20 matches, four points adrift of safety.
Their record since appointing Nuno following his Forest exit stands at two wins, four draws and eight defeats in 14 matches, which equates to a dreadful return of 0.73 points per game.
Last time out, the Hammers suffered a shocking 3-0 defeat away at English top-flight basement side Wolves. The result handed the Old Gold their first league victory of the 2025-26 season.
Since recording back-to-back wins over Newcastle and Burnley in early November, West Ham are now without a victory in nine consecutive Premier League matches (L5, D4).
That is their longest winless run in the league since the final nine games of the 2010-11 campaign. They were relegated at the end of that season, finishing rock bottom on 33 points.
West Ham are now as low as 2/7 in the Premier League relegation betting odds market.
Additionally, Nuno has gone 26 straight matches in the Premier League without keeping a clean sheet. This includes results from spells at both West Ham and Nottingham Forest.
Facing off against the latter – his former club – next, reports suggest it could be his final game as Hammers boss. If they are unable to secure a positive result, he could be shown the exit door.
January signings Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos, strikers signed from Gil Vicente and Lazio, are eligible to feature against the Reds on Tuesday, potentially providing Nuno a major lifeline.
Slaven Bilic Among Contenders for West Ham Job
Should Espirito Santo be sacked off the back of their midweek clash against Nottingham Forest, Slaven Bilic is among the leading candidates to replace the Portuguese coach at the helm.
Bilic enjoyed a two-year spell with the Hammers between 2015 and 2017, and the latest next West Ham manager odds suggest the Croatian is in the frame to make a sensational return.
He has been out of a job since departing Saudi Pro League side Al-Fateh in August 2024.
The 57-year-old has expressed clear interest in the role, having confirmed that he was ‘close’ to joining West Ham earlier this season, but the club opted for Espirito Santo instead.
Reports suggest that Bilic would likely join on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Elsewhere, Gary O’Neil, who is currently being linked with the soon-to-be vacant Strasbourg job, is a leader in the market, and so are Michael Carrick, Harry Redknapp and Kieran McKenna.
Frank Lampard, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Gareth Southgate are also listed in the betting market.
