Hello FPL fans, my name is Pingreen, and I’m back to provide my favourite picks as I run through Gameweek 4 tips. I finished 700th in the world in 22/23 and 1330th last year, so it’s very important you take my advice seriously. I hope you had a great international break. The good news is your rank didn’t get any worse last week; the bad news is you actually had to spend time with your family. Pingreen’s FPL Gameweek 4 Tips Captain Pick – Erling Haaland – £15.2m Fixture: Brentford (Home) Last time I said I wouldn’t pick Erling Haaland as my captain choice every single week. That is getting increasingly more difficult to stick by. The only Premier League club that has scored more goals than the Norwegian has all by himself is, you won’t believe this – Manchester City. Seven goals in just three appearances this season is surely unsustainable, but a home clash with Brentford isn’t really the fixture where I see his first blank coming. He will blank at some point, right? Defender – Ezri Konsa – £4.5m Fixture: Everton (Home) Konsa faces Everton this week, do I need to say any more? I will anyway. If you’re trying to live the luxurious lifestyle of owning both Haaland and Salah, you’re going to need plenty of budget picks in your team. Aston Villa’s Konsa might be the most solid £4.5m defender of the bunch. Villa under Emery have always been strong defensively, and Konsa is an essential component. He doesn’t come packed with attacking threat, but not many budget defenders do. What he does come with is an incredible fixture run facing Everton, Wolves, and then Ipswich, as well as being as nailed minutes-wise as you can get. Did I mention he plays Everton this week? Midfielder – Eberechi Eze – £6.9m Fixture: Leicester (Home) After blanks in his opening two games of the season, many managers were quick to sell Eberechi Eze. If you were one of those managers, do better. Anyone who watched Palace against Brentford and West Ham would’ve seen with their very own eyes that everything good The Eagles did went through their number 10. Ironically, he only managed 0.2 xG+A in their most recent game against Chelsea (his lowest of the season) and that’s the game he finally managed a 10-point haul. With a home fixture against struggling Leicester, I expect him to make things look Eze once more. Striker – Nicolas Jackson – £7.6m Fixture: Bournemouth (Away) Despite netting 14 goals in the Premier League during the 22/23 season, Nicolas Jackson became a bit of a joke amongst rival fans due to a number of comical misses. For that reason alone, I’m sure plenty of people haven’t even considered the Senegalese for their FPL team. However, with Chelsea’s great run of fixtures and having already racked up more npxG+A than Erling Haaland (yes, you read that right) you shouldn’t be overlooking Chelsea’s forward man. If you hadn’t heard, Chelsea did sign quite a few players over the summer. But after failing to land the likes of Osimhen and Toney, Jackson’s minutes up front still seem secure for the foreseeable future. With Bournemouth, West Ham, and Brighton in his next three, Jackson could be a great differential for your side, even with a few misses Werner and Nunez would be proud of.
