Portugal vs Hungary Betting Tips, Odds, and Bet Builder

On the precipice of securing their place in the FIFA World Cup 2026, Portugal will host Hungary for their final October qualifier on Tuesday night.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal are sitting at the top of Group F after securing nine points from three matches. Hungary, meanwhile, are in second place with four points to their name.

With Armenia on three points, Hungary need a positive result on Tuesday to retain second place in the Group F rankings.

Portugal Looking to Secure World Cup Place With Hungary Win

Roberto Martinez’s Portugal have been at the top of their game in the World Cup qualifiers. They have won all three of their matches, keeping two clean sheets, scoring nine goals, and conceding only two.

While Os Navegadores showcased their free-flowing attack in the first two matches, beating Armenia (5-0) and Hungary (3-2), Ireland forced them to dig deep on Matchday 3. Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been in rampant form this season for club and country, missed his penalty. And it took a clinical header from Ruben Neves in injury time to secure a win for Portugal.

On Tuesday, Portugal will be without Joao Neves, who continues to recover from a hamstring injury he suffered ahead of the Ireland clash. Ronaldo is expected to start alongside Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, and Pedro Neto.

Hungary, meanwhile, have yet to find their footing in the 2025/26 World Cup qualifiers. They opened their campaign with a 2-2 draw with Ireland and then lost 3-2 to Portugal at home. Marco Rossi’s side finally got their first win against lowly Armenia on Matchday 3, beating the visitors 2-0.

Although they got the result, Hungary could not dominate proceedings. Both of their goals came in the second half, and they missed two of the four big chances they created.

On Tuesday night, Hungary will have the services of Barnabas Varga and Roland Sallai, after they both missed the game against Armenia. Varga scored both goals when Hungary lost 3-2 to Portugal in September.

Hungary will also keep an eye on the match between the Republic of Ireland and Armenia, which kicks off at the same time. Ireland vs Armenia betting tips suggest a victory for the hosts in Dublin.

Portugal vs Hungary Betting Tips

  • Portugal to Win – 3/13
  • Cristiano Ronaldo to Score – 11/20
  • Bruno Fernandes to Take Over 2.5 Shots – 7/10

Portugal to Win

Two-time UEFA Nations League winners Portugal have one of the strongest squads in world football. For long, they have drawn criticism for not playing up to their potential, but things have been looking better under Roberto Martinez.

Since succeeding Fernando Santos, Martinez has managed Portugal in 33 matches, taking them to 25 wins (D 2, L 5). Portugal have won five of their last six matches in all competitions (D 1), scoring 18 goals. Between Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, and Bernardo Silva, Portugal have some of the most experienced match-winners in their arsenal.

In the reverse fixture against Hungary, Portugal dug deep and got the winning goal in the 86th minute. It extended their unbeaten run to 15 games against Hungary (W 11, D 4).

Cristiano Ronaldo to Score

The evergreen Cristiano Ronaldo failed to find the back of the net against Ireland on Saturday, ending a five-game scoring streak for his country. After the rare disappointment, the Al-Nassr star will be doubly determined to make an impact against Hungary.

Ronaldo also enjoys an impressive record against Hungary. He has faced them in seven matches across competitions, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. In the reverse fixture, Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot in the 56th minute.

Bruno Fernandes to Take Over 2.5 Shots

With Cristiano Ronaldo in the team, Bruno Fernandes does not get as many opportunities to attack the box. So, more often than not, the Manchester United playmaker tries his luck from range.

In three World Cup qualifiers, he has taken seven shots, with six of them coming from outside the box (xG 1.3). Hungary would be wary of his long-range ability, but we are backing him to put some pressure on the visitors on Tuesday.
