Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly set their sights on Real Madrid attacker and long-time Arsenal target Rodrygo Goes.
Rodrygo, who has won two UEFA Champions League titles with Real Madrid, could leave the club after losing his place in the team under Xabi Alonso.
Towards the end of the 2024/25 season, reports emerged that Rodrygo was unhappy with his minutes at Real Madrid. At the end of the LaLiga season, Xabi Alonso replaced Carlo Ancelotti at the helm. The 24-year-old’s hopes were renewed with the managerial switch, and he expressed his excitement on social media.

Unfortunately for the Brazilian, the scarcity of minutes has prevailed under Alonso. In the Club World Cup, Rodrygo has played just 88 minutes of football across four games. He has only clocked 23 minutes in the last three outings. The Brazil international was an unused substitute as Real Madrid beat Juventus 1-0 in the Club World Cup Round of 16.
The lack of minutes under Alonso has led to heavy speculation about his future. According to most leading outlets, Premier League giants Arsenal are the frontrunners in the race for Rodrygo. Last month, club legend Emmanuel Petit expressed his admiration for Rodrygo, advising Arsenal to sign him.
As per journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal see Rodrygo as the dream signing. Real Madrid have yet to have the final talk with Alonso about Rodrygo’s future. But they could accept a bid in the region of €90 million (£77.3 million).
Arsenal view Rodrygo as a perfect fit. Real winger will hold talks with Xabi Alonso once back from the Club World Cup to clarify his future. #AFC yet to learn if he is open to leave, but Real are prepared to sanction an exit for around €90m.

PSG Join Arsenal in the Race for Real Madrid Star Rodrygo
As per Spanish outlet Fichajes.net, PSG have identified Rodrygo as one of the priority targets for the summer. Coach Luis Enrique is reportedly a big fan of the young forward and has asked the board to bring him to the Parc des Princes. The former Barcelona coach believes adding Rodrygo to his squad would take the attack to new heights.
The Parisians have had a lot of success with their youthful attack. With Bradley Barcola, Ballon d’Or contender Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Enrique has created a fluid attacking unit. Thanks to their versatility, the attack is rather difficult to neutralise. Rodrygo’s ability to play in multiple attacking positions makes him the perfect potential addition.
I wonder what Rodrygo will do this summer. It’s going to be interesting to see. Right now it looks like Xabi doesn’t trust him to start games.

After losing his place under Xabi Alonso, Rodrygo has reportedly decided to look for a new club. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup fast approaching, he wants to play as much as possible to prepare for the tournament. He fears that a fringe role at Madrid could hurt his chances of becoming a starter for Brazil.
Rodrygo has played 269 games for Los Blancos in all competitions. He has scored 68 goals and provided 51 assists, helping the club to three LaLiga titles and two Champions Leagues, among other honours.
