Premier League giants Arsenal head to the Netherlands to take on PSV in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie on Tuesday evening, where they’ll be looking to bounce back after going two games without a victory.
Mikel Arteta’s side were held to a goalless stalemate by Nottingham Forest last time out, following on from a 1-0 defeat to West Ham four days prior. It leaves them 13 points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, as they remain in second place.
In Europe, the Gunners have been excellent this term. They finished the league phase in third place, boasting a record of six wins, one draw and one defeat, ensuring their direct advancement to the last 16.

As for PSV, they ended the league phase in 14th place after winning four, drawing two and losing two. Standout results include wins over Liverpool, Girona and Shakhtar, while they also held PSG to a 1-1 stalemate.
Of course, the Eredivisie outfit had to take part in last month’s knockout phase play-offs after missing out on the top eight, in which they came from behind to beat Italian giants Juventus 4-3 on aggregate.
Since that victory though, Peter Bosz’s side have lost back-to-back matches against Go Ahead Eagles. Firstly, they were eliminated from the KNVB Beker after losing 2-1 last Wednesday, before a 3-2 defeat in the Dutch top-flight on Saturday.
The last time Arsenal and PSV met in competitive play came in last season’s Champions League group stage. The first of two meetings, at the Emirates, ended 4-0 in favour of the Gunners, with their clash in Eindhoven ending in a 1-1 draw.

Attackers Malik Tillman (leg), Ricardo Pepi (knee) and Esmir Bajraktarevic (unspecified) will all miss the first leg through injury, while former Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest (knee) is also ruled out.
Mauro Junior is a doubt due to a reported bruised bone.

The Gunners, meanwhile, remain without Gabriel Jesus (knee), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee), Kai Havertz (thigh), Gabriel Martinelli (thigh) and Bukayo Saka (thigh) due to their respective injury concerns.
Myles Lewis-Skelly, who missed the trip to the City Ground through suspension after being red carded against West Ham, is eligible to make his return to Arteta’s matchday squad.
