The Robbie Llewellyn-trained FEEL THE PINCH is very consistent in small fields, recording form figures in single-figure line-ups of 813141F13U311114421 (9-19) for a profit of £57.63 to a £1 level stake at SP. He drops down in grade after his tenth of 17 in Class 2 company at Market Rasen last time and the market looks to have overreacted to that easily excusable performance. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

ASCOT 3.57

TABLETALK heads the betting for this 1m6f handicap on the strength of his victory in the Melrose Handicap at York in August, but he had the run of the race on the inside rail from his favourable low draw and it’s just possible that he was flattered. Sent off at 12-1 that day, odds of around 2-1 hardly look generous today especially given the switch from very fast to very soft going. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose TABLETALK in Ascot 3.57

 

HEXHAM 5.50

MOONLIGHT GLORY enjoys tracks with a stiff uphill finish, especially Hexham and Newcastle. Her combined record at these two courses stands at 20122151 (3-8), with the 12th place at 40-1 when failing to stay 2m7.5f at Newcastle and the fifth place in a Class 3 contest at Hexham where she looked a shade outclassed (she’s yet to score above Class 4 level). She finished a creditable 22-1 fifth of 12 at Sedgefield last month and the return to Hexham, coupled with taking on her own sex, could spark a revival. Softer ground would have been ideal, but she still rates a small buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Back MOONLIGHT GLORY in Hexham 5.50
