Harry Derham has a solid record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other trainers, scoring with 19 of the 48 qualifiers for a lovely profit of £58.64 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 10.74, A/E = 1.77) and that was before Copshill Lad’s 2-1 victory at Stratford yesterday. RECODED, ex-Lorna Fowler, can keep the ball rolling in this maiden hurdle.

CRAFTY SPIRIT (system – Clive Cox, second run since gelded, all-weather)

Since racing resumed after lockdown in June 2020 Clive Cox is eight from 20 (40%) with his all-weather runners who were having their second start since a gelding operation and backing them all would have returned a profit of £35.77 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 3.26, A/E = 2.45). CRAFTY SPIRIT beat only a couple home when 15-8 favourite for a 6f Kempton handicap on his first start since a gelding operation but that run was probably needed and he’s taken to bounce back tonight.
