Sam Allardyce Mural Amuses Former England Manager
As well as England, Allardyce has also managed the likes of Everton, Newcastle, Bolton Wanderers and West Brom.
In a video posted to ITV News, he said: “Just seen the mural that has been sent of me in Dudley, my home town. Absolutely privileged to be honest with you, I thought it was a very good likeness.
“Chips look a bit hot, but I really enjoyed seeing it. Whoever did it, thank you very much!”

The mysterious Sam Allardyce mural appeared on a wall on Union Street, in central Dudley.
Just a short distance from Dudley’s main high street, the mural has gained plenty of attention.
The West Midlands Town of Dudley is where Allardyce grew up, so there is at least some sense to the location.
Eight miles northwest of Birmingham and six miles southeast of Wolverhampton, Dudley is a market town at the heart of the Black Country.
Famed for its mining and industrial links, Dudley was a key hub throughout Britain’s industrial revolution.
Why Is There A Sam Allardyce Mural?
Although the location of Sam Allardyce’s mural makes sense, it’s still unclear who made it or why it’s there.
The mural has divided opinions amongst locals, though.
Speaking to the Gazzette and Herald, one passer by said it was nice to see a local hero honoured.
They said: “It’s a bit odd as it doesn’t have a slogan or any words, but it brightens up the place.”
But a local worker, who admitted he did not know who the mural depicted, said it was “the randomest thing I’ve ever seen”.
“Who is it? It’s just weird, it doesn’t make sense and it needs to go,” he said.
