Stephen Bunting has made his thoughts very clear after another disappointing night in the PDC Premier League 2025.

The fan favourite is making his first appearance at the PDC Premier League in 10 years after an impressive performance in 2024.

Putting in stellar performances on the oche, as well as growing a mass following on social media has put the ‘Bullet’ in the conversation for the most popular player in the world.

However, his opening three matches in the Premier League have not gone according to plan, losing in the opening match on each occasion.

During night one, the world No.5 was beaten 6-4 by Rob Cross after averaging 94.03 and only hitting 4/13 when attempting to checkout.

Bunting followed this up with another defeat during night two, as he was thrashed 6-1 by Michael van Gerwen and averaging 93.91.

Most recently, the 39-year-old darts star was beaten 6-4 by Luke Humphries where he managed to break an average of 100 for the first time with 100.49.

Following another disappointing exit in the competition, Bunting decided to speak out on social media about his performance and highlighted how it is a ‘marathon and not a sprint’.

Bunting said: “Not the start I had dreamt about but what an absolute pleasure to be playing in front of these fantastic crowds.

“Still a few nerves and the emotion of the walk on will fade over the weeks. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Really looking forward to Exeter next week.”

Things will not get any easier for the British darts player, as Bunting faces the current Premier League title holder, Luke Littler, in the opening match of night four.
The teenager has made a decent start to his title defence, winning the entirety of night two, but was beaten 6-4 by Gerwyn Price in his most recent appearance.
