The Sunday Times Rich List 2025 is out, and it’s not good news for Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. United owner Ratcliffe, 72, has seen his wealth drop significantly this year, according to the latest estimates from the Sunday Times Rich List. Each year, the Sunday Times releases a list of the wealthiest people and families in the UK. It has been published since 1989, and gives a detailed ranking of the richest members of British society. But this year, nobody on the list has fallen further than Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Man Utd Owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe Biggest Faller On Sunday Times Rich List United owner Ratcliffe’s performance in the Rich List has matched his club’s efforts on the field. With an estimated drop in wealth of £6.5 billion, nobody on the list has fallen further in the past year. He is still worth £17 billion, so we’re sure he won’t be too upset, but it’s still a huge drop that’s seen Ratcliffe fall to seventh place, having topped the list in 2018. It is thought losses at his Ineos group empire have fuelled the drop in wealth. Ineos purchased a 28% stake in Manchester United in February 2024. Debts have been growing at the company, with US President Donald Trump’s trade tariffs believed to have made a big impact.
