Former Premier League stars Chris Sutton and Gary Neville have predicted that Liverpool will fail to beat Crystal Palace for the second time this season.
Bookmakers in the UK, meanwhile, are siding firmly with the Premier League leaders to get the win.
Palace and Liverpool met in the FA Community Shield at the start of the season. The Eagles equalised twice as the game finished 2-2 at the end of the regulation time. Oliver Glasner’s side prevailed on penalties, beating Arne Slot’s English champions 3-2.
Sutton and Neville Predict a Tight Draw in Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
Liverpool have looked well below their magnificent best in recent outings against Crystal Palace.
In their last six Premier League meetings, Liverpool have won twice, lost once, and drawn thrice. Both their wins came by the narrowest of margins (1-0, 2-1). According to Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
Liverpool and Crystal Palace are the only unbeaten teams going into Matchday 6. The Merseysiders have a 100% record in the Premier League while the London side have registered two wins and three draws.
In his BBC column, Chris Sutton predicted both teams would hold on to their unbeaten records.
A perfect start 💯

“Part of me is thinking that Liverpool are going to click soon and just absolutely annihilate someone.
“At the same time, I just don’t think that is what will happen against Palace. Palace got the better of them on penalties in the Community Shield, and while I am not sure you can read too much into that, I am going for another draw this time.“
Sutton’s Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Prediction: 0-0
This is not the only stalemate Sutton has predicted this week. He also predicted that Brentford and Manchester United would play out a rare draw on Saturday.
Manchester United legend Gary Neville also backed the teams to share points in their Selhurst Park meeting on Saturday.
Speaking on The Overlap podcast, Neville said:
“I think draw. Yeah, 1-1.”

Historical data support the prediction, as Liverpool have beaten Palace 37 times in 67 matches across competitions. Additionally, the Reds’ ability to secure wins, even when playing scrappily, could come in handy against a team as hard to break down as Palace.
