Chelsea academy graduate Tammy Abraham has reportedly signed a four-year deal with Turkish club Besiktas. Fans of the Turkish club, however, do not think it is the right move for the club.
Abraham left Chelsea for AS Roma in a £34 million deal at the request of Jose Mourinho in 2021.
After falling out of favour at the club, he left them for AC Milan in August 2024. Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini does not think Abraham is integral to his plans for 2025/26, and Roma need to raise €13 million (£11 million) by June 30 to avoid FFP sanctions.
Tammy Abraham Signs Four-Year Deal with Besiktas
On Sunday, June 29, transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, who recently explored the Hugo Ekitike situation, reported that former England international Tammy Abraham had a verbal agreement with Besiktas. According to Romano, Besiktas have agreed to pay €20 million (£17 million) for the 27-year-old striker.
He wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
“Besiktas reach verbal agreement to sign Tammy Abraham on permanent deal from AS Roma, here we go!
“Transfer fee around €20m. Abraham has accepted the destination. Time for paperwork between clubs. Tanmy, set to fly to Turkey.”
On Monday, Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported that he had signed a four-year deal with Besiktas.
“BeÅŸiktaÅŸ has reached a 4-year agreement with Tammy Abraham, who wears the AS Roma jersey,” he wrote on X (translated to English).

This move bodes well for Roma, but Besiktas fans are not excited about the transfer.
Besiktas Fans Unhappy About Tammy Abraham Transfer
Shortly after Yagiz Sabuncuoglu announced the four-year deal, Besiktas fans started bemoaning the transfer. From expressing concerns about Tammy Abraham’s fitness to criticising his reported price tag, Besiktas fans did not hold back.

“I think it’s the wrong transfer, and 4 years is way too long. Something like Batshuai. His knees are shot from ACL injuries. I’m curious about what kind of planning led to this. Foreign media says 20 million euros. Prices like it’s a joke.”

@mdo_2021 listed several A-listers, claiming the money would have been better spent elsewhere.

@elcazadorFB took a neutral approach, saying it was neither a good transfer nor a bad one.
He wrote:
“BeÅŸiktaÅŸ has signed Tammy Abraham. Although he misses some chances from time to time, it’s not a bad transfer for BeÅŸiktaş’s budget, but it’s not something to get overly excited about either.”

Although the transfer fee is a concern, Abraham could potentially be a revelation at Besiktas. At Chelsea, he enjoyed a brisk start, becoming one of the club’s highest scorers after 50 Premier League appearances.
He is quick, intelligent, and a hard worker. If he can keep injuries at bay, this could turn out to be a good signing for Besiktas
