Despite losing, Tottenham Hotspur fans saw positives in their 5-3 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Fans on Reddit praised Thomas Frank for being aggressive, as they saw fight in Spurs’ game against the European champions.
The overall positive reception might come as a relief to Frank, who is one of the leading names in the Premier League sack race odds market.
However, he must start racking up points if he were to keep his job in North London.
Tottenham Hotspur and PSG produce eight-goal thriller
Tottenham Hotspur and PSG delivered the most entertaining match of Gameweek Five at the Parc des Princes.
Richarlison scored the opening goal of the game in the 35th minute, but Vitinha restored parity with an outside-the-box effort just 10 minutes later.
Randal Kolo Muani got on the end of a rebound to make it 2-1 for Spurs in the 50th minute.
However, their lead only lasted for three minutes as Vitinha equalised with a superb curling effort from the edge of the box.

Fabian Ruiz (59′) and William Pacho (65′) scored in quick succession to make it 4-2 for the hosts.
Tottenham sparked life back into the game once more in the 72nd minute, as Kolo Muani scored against his parent club for a second time.
The hopes of a comeback were snuffed out soon after. Cristian Romero conceded a penalty, which was put away by Vitinha to complete his hat-trick.
After the end of the match, Thomas Frank praised Vitinha, backing him to win the Ballon d’Or in the future.
Spurs fans happy to see ‘fight’ in PSG defeat
A large section of fans on Reddit were happy with Tottenham’s performance in Paris on Wednesday.
They welcomed the aggression in Spurs’ game and hoped Thomas Frank would build on it.
Spurs finished with a higher xG than PSG, generating 2.30 and conceding 1.87 (as per xG Philosophy). Fans saw it as an encouraging sign ahead of the clash against Fulham.
Randal Kolo Muani was Tottenham’s standout player, scoring two goals and providing an assist. There were special shout-outs to Kolo Muani for his effort.
Thomas Frank reacts to Tottenham’s performance against PSG
Like most of Tottenham’s supporters, Thomas Frank appreciated the fight his team put up against the European champions.
In a post-match interview, Frank said:
“Pleased with the performance. It was the reaction I wanted from the players and from the team.
“We responded well and bounced back. That’s crucial after a bad performance. Today, there was more identity of the team we want to create.”
He concluded by adding:
“More character, personality, aggressiveness. Three words you need… no matter how you want to play, whatever formation.”
While the performance impressed Frank, he knows that a positive result is the need of the hour.
The Lilywhites are on a three-game winless run (D 1, W 2) in all competitions. They host Fulham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night.
