Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk has signed a two-year contract extension with the club that will keep him on Merseyside until 2027. The Dutch centre back, 33, was due to be out of contract at the end of the current season. But Van Dijk has now committed his future to Arne Slot’s team, joining teammate Mohamed Salah in signing a new deal with Liverpool. Speaking after the deal was announced, Van Dijk said:  “It’s a proud feeling, it’s a feeling of joy. But the former Celtic and Southampton man says he never doubted his desire to remain at Liverpool. “It was always Liverpool,” added Van Dijk. “That was the case.
